Great location!
The good: great location. We had a wonderful view of Mt Fuji right from our room. Close to the sight-seeing bus line. Close to restaurants and department store. Onsen was fun. Neat to have a room with tatami mats and paper window panels.
The bad: older building and in places really showing it's age. Staff only speaks Japanese (but Google translate helps with that). I also learned that futon mattresses aren't comfortable for me (my son loved them).
So our last min trip left us with few practical hotels to chose from. I decided to try a Japanese styled hotel/hostel. That means sleeping on the floor and minimal furniture. It also meant shared bathrooms and showers!😩 The verdict?!?! It was fun! Me and the kids basically built a fort and slept in it. The futons made the floor kinda comfy. (I still woke up with my body hurting tho) The blankets were big and thick. The air conditioner kept the room warm. The other guests were courteous and weren’t too loud. Didn’t try the public bath so I’m not sure if it was like an Onsen or just stalls. For travelers who don’t need much but a warm room and necessities and are on a budget I recommend it!! We only stayed 1 and being the snob that I am I would only stay one due to the shared bath...but still give it a great review! The view of Mt. Fuji was amazing to wake up to. The check in and out was easy. The staff was nice. This place is very close to Fuji Q, Mt.Fuji, The lakes with the views, places to eat and much more!
