"Overall a very good hotel. The room is spacious, modern and comfort. The location is just perfect. Breakfast is also excellent - lots of variety.
There are however a few wrinkles that I believe the management should be aware of:
- twice during my stay the air conditioning cut out in the middle of the night, making the room uncomfortably hot. The control panel becomes totally unresponsive and it seems to need a reset by reception
- on one of the days housekeeping did not clean my room, for unknown reasons. Reception offered to replace the water bottle and towel. It took another call to reception to get a bottle but the towel never showed up
- the safety deposit box was left closed when I checked in to my room meaning I couldn’t use it for the first night. Reception was supposed to send someone that night but no one showed up.
Be aware that if you have a room facing the river, the traffic noise can be quite high.
Other than that, happy to recommend this hotel."
"Location is excellent. The aircon worked very well. The bed was comfortable and shower very good. Breakfast was adequate although I would have liked to have had more choice. It did not start until 08:00 although sometimes a bit earlier, but this was no use for days when you book a tour. The outside street noise was a little noticeable during the night. I didn't use the bar or restaurant for lunch/dinner. I would happily return here."
"Pros: The sauna and steam room, you can reserve slots so you have them to yourself.
The hot drink machine: Free hot drinks from the machine as you please.
General hotel facilities, the room and the hotel in general are good. They have a small kitchen with all the essentials, it’s like a little apartment in the room.
The reception desk staff are friendly and helpful. Zejna was absolutely lovely, she was so helpful and kind and so was Amra, one of the cleaning ladies, both were really lovely.
The location is great, it’s within walking distance to all the main sights.
Cons:
The cleaning standards for the rooms, need to be improved majorly. I have stayed in other 3&4 star hotels that have better cleaning standards. Considering the reputation the Marriott has, I expected better.
When I first came in the room, my pillow case had an orange stain on it.
The 2 cleaning ladies, one wore a hijab and the other had short black hair need to work on their customer service skills. 3 times I received bad attitude from them:
When I asked for my bedsheets to be changed and for the tea and coffee sachets and when I asked them to come later to clean our room. These 3 requests I received a dirty look. The lady with the scarf made it very obvious she did not like us. Considering how much we pay for the service, the customer service from them both was shocking.
They need to fill up the water tank in the fitness room area, it was empty throughout my stay there."
"Service was excellent. Room was spotless. Breakfast had plenty of options. Great location. All around great experience. Plus free parking in secure underground car park."
"This hotel was lovely! My suite overlooked the back terrace and the mosque/old city. While it was a bit loud at night, the view was so beautiful, I didn't mind at all. The complementary breakfast was amazing, and the spa treatments were wonderful. Cena, the aesthetician, was so nice and friendly. The location is perfect for walking to almost anywhere in the city. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again!"
"Very clean hotel, fantastic location. Very clean with lots of natural sunlight with great views. It’s across the street from the old town. Also a 5-10 minute walk from other attractions. I originally stayed at a hotel about a 15 minute drive and finding taxis can be challenging so I switched to the Ornament and I’m so happy I did. The staff at the Ornament Hotel were very friendly and helpful. I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends."
