Room was not ready when I checked in after 2pm. When the room was eventually ready, the air-conditioning was leaking like shower, staff was not going to do much about the leaking situation (as the technician needs an hour to arrive), until I demanded a refund. After asking for the refund, finally saw some action, Toronto motel was transferring me to Strawberry Guest House at Chung King Mansion, TST. The room condition was much much better, clean, with functioning air-conditioning system. I highly recommend Strawberry Guest House, but please DO NOT go to Toronto Motel, you will regret it.

Incredible Toronto Motel.
I was surprised by the Toronto Motel. I stayed many times in Chunking Mansions before but my first in Mirador Mansions. This one is far, far better than the other ones. It is clean, bed is comfortable and staff friendly. The price I paid was very good comparing value and money. Though I did not get the coffee as advertised, I will go there again when I visit Hong Kong the next time.

Inner bedding (pillow and mattress) was smelly and there were definitely biting bedbugs. There was also cooking on the premises resulting in pungent odors. Toronto Motel advertises out of "Miradaor Mansions," but the room in question was really in the infamous "Chungking Mansions" further south along Nathan Road. Nobody should ever have to stay in the highly-distinctive "Chungking Mansions" unless that is really what they intend to do.

My experience wasn’t bad, this motel is best for people traveling alone and just looking to stay for one or two days, because the rooms are very small but the most important thing is that, the rooms are clean and the staffs are very helpful. The location is great and very safe. I will surely recommend this place.

I stayed in a single room, very clean. The motel locates in Kowloon close to metro & many shops. The staffs are friendly. The cleaning girl cleaned my room almost every day which I do not expect. The room is small but has everything I need. I would stay there again. Overall I am happy to stay there .

After a tiny bump during check-in, the staff at the Toronto Motel made a great effort and moved me into a larger room for the second half of my stay. Every square meter counts in Hong Kong and I was delighted to have the extra space. Warm, friendly smiles from all the staff - many thanks!

Good for one night stay. Very tiny room
Overall it was what I had expected. I just wanted to have a place to sleep for one night. Room was clean and service was good. They asked me to deposit HKD 100 for the security of the key, which I did not. I told them that I don't have cash. Room was very small, barely any place to walk. If you are carrying 2/3 big suitcases, then you won't be able to keep them in the room. I won't stay in this room if I am staying in HK for more than one day. For one night sleep, it's perfect.

We're moved to other hotel
We have booked and paid a room at this hotel, but when we arrived and checked in, apparently the hotel was fully booked and we're taken to other hotel which is said still under one company. We initially didnt have idea where the man took us. He didnt explained why and where to go. Then we found out that we were taken to Temple Street Hotel. We didnt even want to stay there actually. But we were too tired to argue and just accept the situation.

Very uncomfortable
If cost is your only concern, this place should do for you, but there is little here that is comfortable. Cramped room (little bigger than the bed itself), dirty sheets, leaky toilet, and something biting our feet at night (fleas? bedbugs?). The building--elevator, hallways--is all grimy. Yuck! We got out of there after just one sleepless night.

Thanks to Amit and the Indonesian staff. They are very very nice. Other than that, i was really disappointed. No compensation for the over booking they made. They own 7 other hostel which are next to each other. Totally clueless with advice. Amit and the Indonesian girl should be working somewhere else better than this place. The owner was rude!!!!! Very rude. The managers are all talk. Book somewhere else. There are sooo many other places in this area!!!!

I booked a room at the Toronto Motel - it is rather difficult to find unless you know its on the 8th floor of a building that is unmarked on the outside. When I got there they told me they did not have a room for me, but they had "moved" me to their other property a block away. I was taken to the Strawberry Motel (which was on the 12th floor of a building in worse condition) and the room was tiny but clean. The walls are paper thin so I could hear people talking and snoring the whole night. I would only suggest this motel if you are used to staying in hostels and don't have high standards. Its a tiny basic room.

It's a very nice hotel, it's so close to almost everything! The staff is also good. They even got me a birthday cake cos I checked in on my exact birth date. Yey! Very nice experience. Thank you!

Exceeded expectation
The hotel staffs are very friendly and accomodating, the restroom is clean and spacious, and there is a water dispenser and oven. We've slept nicely and soundly because of the comfortable bed and pillows. The hotel location is very good for the tourists. Will certainly choose to book again here.

I ended up not staying at the hotel and had to rebook a new hotel on the day of arrival which cost me more instead. What happened was that I booked a room but upon arrival, they moved me to another of their affiliate hotel in a different street of hongkong. It was a smaller and less kemp room. Upon reaching, the first thing I saw was that the bed had questionable stains on it. The toilet was so small, you can only shower while sitting on the toilet bowl itself. There isn't even a place big enough for you to put your luggage, unless you consider sleeping with your luggage on your bed an option. As I had booked a non cancellable room, I had to forfeit my money. In summary, this place is not for couples or families to stay in.

Friendly staff. Took a while to locate the motel, especially carrying my suitcase and not originally finding a lift to the 8th floor. I was surprised at the very compactness of the room. I was treated very well.

Comfortable stay with good staff
We had some issues with our room upon check in and immediately brought them to the staff's attention. The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make sure our room was spotless and well attended to for the rest of our stay. That being said, there are some...characters staying in the hotel but people mostly keep to themselves.

a ok hostel if you only stay one or few nights. They claim daily cleaning of the room, but they don't do. You have to tell them if you want it to be cleaned. It's located in a mandion that are between lots of clock shops so be prepared for lots of indians that wants to sell sheep watches and clothes (copies). they are very persistent and disturbing. Good thing is that the hostel are near to everything. If you plan to book a room for a couple of days only it's a okay place, but more nights you should look for another hostel. according to my experiences, most low priced hostel located on Nathan road are bad choice if you want to stay many nights. hostels on cameron road or catham road are much better in cleaning and services for the same price.

OK for the $$$...but spend a few $$$ more
Nice interior, but the sheet was stained and it was difficult to check out for an early departure, even when discussed the night before - had ring from the room, and eventually the front desk phones when the promised desk staff didnt appear...fair bit of fuss for just getting back a 100HKD key deposit...had a look at a few other places that evening while there and in the nearby Mansions - this one is possibly a bit overpriced. For value for money if youre in Hong Kong for a few days, maybe try a spot on Hong Kong island..BestWestern or Ibis North Points were only $20US more...and a HUGE difference in experience. Grab somewhere near a ferry connection and spend the nights in a more pleasant hotel...
