We paid +$600 per night for a Premier Room and spent four nights looking directly at a massive black wall. Just one week earlier, my friend paid the same rate for the same room category and received a beautiful view of Manhattan and Bryant Park.
When we asked to move, the only rooms offered had essentially the same obstructed outlook, and our request for a partial refund or credit was denied. Even the terrace was unavailable one evening because of a private event.
The hotel should clearly disclose severely obstructed rooms and price them differently. Guests paying the same rate should not receive such dramatically unequal experiences. I canceled another hotel based on my friend’s recommendation, and I deeply regret that decision.
