Great breakfast buffet. The airconditioning in my room needs servicing - I turned it to 18 and it was still warm. I therefore did not sleep well. Shame the Riverview café had tinted windows, which prevented one from looking out onto the lovely river view outside. Overall, the hotel was dark and it did not give one a welcoming feeling.

quite nicely renovated, but the toilet was WAY too small for 2 persons, unlike the previous toilets. so narrow it was impossible for 2 persons to stand inside.

Started off lovely. Room nice and freshly renovated. A little noisy as work was still being completed. Breakfast was ok. Went down hill the night we had dinner at the hotel. It was a wagyu night. I have never in my life seen anything so bad. Unsure how they even managed to make the meat so wrong. Topped off by the staff bringing the wrong bottle of wine three times. And once looking it up the wine was $9.00 online and the Hilton charged us $150 AUD The dinner was beyond the worst food I have ever eaten. Beyond disappointed.

Confirmed hotel booking was not available
reserved room was not available due to renovation but not informed before arrival to hotel and brought another hotel which is lower grade without any compensation. I paid to Hilton hotel price level but stayed lower grade hotel. Very disappointed.

Should close down the hotel
The hotel is undergoing major renovations. They were unable to fix the phone in my room though I stayed 4 nights. Only one or 2 lifts were working leading to long waits . The swimming pool had no attendant to direct me to the showers

The hotel is pretty old school, so 5-star for certain utilities is much suited 15 years ago. TV is old, please bring your tablets. I love the lift buttons and displays which is pretty much 60s-70s? Please keep or refurbish them (not replace), it’s like a charm in “blast from the past”! Cleanliness and comfort is generally excellent. Services and front desk staff knowledge is very accommodative. We got recommendations and bookings over the counter for interesting signature sight-seeings. Maybe there could be a dedicated information counter in the future just for local tourism, cultural habits and amenities? Because Sarawak is so big and interesting and there’s is much things to learn and understand. Breakfast buffet is a good variation: look out for “today’s special”. Abundant in choices to start your mood of the day. The Indian Dosai/Tosai is not so fresh. It should just display one piece instead of taking from display, and make a fresh one upon request - it’s best when eaten fresh. The quality of sushi rice is not so good, but taste is ok. Maybe the chef could make series of California Maki instead to balance a richer palate over the lower quality of Japanese rice (I know good quality sushi rice is difficult to source). Compared to West Malaysia, the tone and language in Sarawak is much humble and gentle. Not rowdy and much less arrogant. These people from Dayaks background deserves much more respect than we thought.

I struggled to choose a hotel in Kuching And chose this one despite renovation work which is going on (I didn’t hear much noise) It’s pretty shabby and certainly needs work - carpets and paintwork stained Staff friendly but not v professional, not what we would have expected in US or Europe Having said that I enjoyed my stay, relaxing and a great view and location Given the low price and the lack of alternatives I would stay here again

We were given a room with river view which we very much appreciated. Hotel is in good location and easy access to river front for morning walk. As it's one of the older hotels there's no denying it's aging with old carpets and mouldy grout. Other than that services and cleanliness are up to expectations.

Overall fine experience
The room facilities and bed were clean and good. I had good sleep. I had river view which is very nice. The breakfast was very good with many choices. The staffs were very friendly and nice. Only drawback is the bathroom, looks old furnishing and some parts does not look clean enough. Feel discomfort during my time in the bathroom. The bathroom amenities could have been 5 star standard. The pool is OK.

Very disappointed stay
Sorry to say, it was most disappointed stay with Hilton brand hotel so far. No hot water around 8 am for my two days stay there, 28-29 Jun 2022. Feedbacked to front desk staff on the first day, nothing happened at all. The bathroom was very dirty and tower was in grey colour. I don’t want to waste time to list all disappointments. The hotel management needs to do his work.

Great location... A little faded
5D4N at Hilton Kuching from Johor. The location is superb right by the river at one end of the waterfront, breakfast was pretty decent with a reasonable amount of choice and friendly service. Our rooms (12th floor) were spacious and included a sitting room which was a real bonus. The rooms were generally clean but some areas need more maintenance such as the trim in the bathrooms. The biggest issue was that we had to queue for over an hour in a crowded lobby in order to check in on our arrival. There was no system or organisation and the whole process was painfully slow (even taking into account SOPs and the fact that the lobby was undergoing refurbishment). The hotel really needs to work out a better system for this in busier periods. Otherwise, very pleasant and will consider on next visit.

check in was great although the room that i booked (river facing) was not available, in the Hotels.com river facing room is more expensive, but the receptionist has upgrade my room with complimentary breakfast. The downside is i found there’s a blood stain on the bed sheet, but o found out during the next morning

It maybe the best hotel in this little city of Kuching . I still remember when it commenced the operation in year 1988 , l was still a teenager but only get to stay in this Hotel Hilton at thirty-two years later . Remain excellent !

Quite old facilities and need for upgrade consideration. My room's bathroom had a water stagnant on the floor. Onwards I had to clean myself in the bathtub by using a pail and dipper. Not enough shower gel. Please bring your own.
