Excellent Hostel With Private Room Options
I really love this hostel and have stayed there 3 times over the years now. The location is very convenient since you can easily walk to Kyoto Station and there's also bus and other train stations even closer. I especially like the private room options here which are perfect for solo or group traveling. The common space downstairs is nice too if you want to meet other travellers and the staff are great as well! Overall, for the price and location, it's hard to beat and the private room options make it even better, especially if you want

Basic Hostel to sleep only
It was a basic hostel to sleep, that’s all, don’t expect too much Compared to other hostels I tried in Japan, their price doesn’t include: - basic toiletries at all (you need to rent towels) - lock/keys for your locker (you need to rent) - ur bed prepared (u need to do your own layering of 2 sheets on top of mattress & below blanket) Location good, near Gojo subway & you can walk 10 minutes to Kyoto station. Cleanliness ok. Communal room quite comfy, even got kitchen to use, coffee/tea/sugar available. CREAKING SOUND Bed frames are made of wooden materials What I hated the most was every time I moved even the slightest, it creaked and creaked and creaked. VERDICT Won’t come back, with around the same amount or even slightly higher I l know I can get better overall somewhere else

Excellent pricing for a barebones hotel room
Located a short walk from the Gojo Subway Station, Shiori An is a very decent place to stay if all you need is a room for the night. No special amenities, no desk or chair in the room, and you have to lay the sheets out on the bed yourself. Staff is friendly, cleanliness throughout the establishment. Ample toilets, baths and showers, just not in your room! Excellent for the budget traveller.

Good location. Very close to Goko station. Bike rental place within walking distance Very accommodating staff that can speak good English and love to chat and sit down if you're willing They have good insight for local Kyoto happenings Highly recommended for Gion Festival and November Autumn season

This is a youth hostel. Good location, clear room, and friendly staff (available from 8:00am-10:pm). There is not any normal size desk and chair in room or public areas. My mother is old and is not used to the Japanese-style tatami. She has to stand while eating.

Great for the price.
The front desk service was great. The bed/facilities weren't bad, especially considering the price. The location was great, just a 10-15 minute walk from Kyoto Station and bar area.

Good for budget travellers, close to transport
The room was comfortable and clean. The last female toilet smells funny. The floor is very sensitive and you have people stomping on the ground all the time, even staff members so they can't act as an example.

全体的には、非常に満足です。チェックインが遅くなってしまいましたが、丁寧に対応してくれました。シャワー、湯船もあって、快適でした。 ただ、一点、残念だったことは、備え付けのパソコンは電源が入らず、iPadは、その存在自体がありませんでした。この辺のメンテナンスもしてくれていれば、文句なしですが、値段と快適性だけでも、充分にお勧めできる旅館です。

共用のれい冷蔵庫に熱いお湯を入れている人がいて、注意したけど聴いて貰えなかった 場所はとても便利で、洗面所もシャワーもたくさんあり清潔で 使いやすいゲストハウスです

교토역과 카와마라치에 걸어서 갈 수 있는 좋은 위치에 있습니다.직원들은 매우 친절했으며 숙소의 상태도 좋았습니다. 영어가 가능한 직원과 어느 정도 한국어가 가능한 직원이 있습니다. 투숙객들의 분위기도 화기애애했습니다. 일본 여행에서 좋은 추억이 되었습니다.

최악의 숙박시설
진짜 최악....여성 전용이 정말 여성전용 이 맞냐고 묻고 싶을 정도 방문이 그냥 열리는 그런 방인데 남성방이랑 같이 있고 ....거기다 제일최악은 냄새 ...진짜 오래된 집에서 나는 곰팡이 냄새 때문에 최악....그래서 늦게 들어가고 최대한 일찍 일어나 나왔습니다 ...... 그리고 진짜 좁아서 캐리어 절대 펼처놓을 수 없습니다 ... 그리고 화장실은 ..최악 머리카락에 뭐 물기에 ..다시는 가고 싶지 않음 곳
