"The check-in was very efficient. Alain and all the front desk staff were helpful and welcoming.
We stayed as a family (two adults and two teens) and the room was just the right size. The bed and pullout couch for our teens were comfortable.
A special acknowledgment for Elisa, one of the cleaning staff, who helped us find a way to San Remo when the trains weren’t working well. 😎
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach, to the old city with restaurants and shopping.
We would definitely come...

"Great little hotel with 8 small flats. On the second floor of a larger building. One block from the promenade/beach area. Really enjoyed our stay! Only things we did not enjoy was the noise from folks on the floor above us, and from other guests in the hotel very late into the evening a couple of nights. Neither of these issues were the fault of the hotel. Would recommend for a great, less expensive option when staying in Nice!"

"The apartment is ideally located, with shops and restaurants within easy reach. The promenade du Anglais is minutes away, as well as local transportation, with the tram stop 2 blocks away. A good security system separates the apartments from local residents. The apartment was bright and clean, with a comfortable bed, good shower and blackout curtains. Complementary croissants were hung on your door every morning which was a nice touch. The owner and receptionist were both welcoming and lovely to...

"Great location, very close to Eze beach. Place is nice, clean and quiet. We didn’t use any of the amenities but it was a great bedroom to have while spending the day at the beach."

"The staff as always were exemplary (7th visit). I did get charged €250 on checking in, to cover any expenses such as breakfast - a bit of a shock - I thought they had added too many zeros! However, on checking out I was only charged for what I'd spent. I enjoyed the free drink and restaurant discount.
I dined twice at the hotel's pricey but pleasant restaurant - again exemplary service. The chef seems to want to experiment on his patrons: lavender flavoured crème brûlée and lemon tiramisu just didn't work for me - hard to improve on classics. They kindly offered an alternative, but as the flavours had been mentioned on the menu, I declined: my fault? perhaps. I also ordered a posh burger, and was surprised to be asked how I wanted my steak done. This led me to expect a delicious piece of steak in the burger instead of the usual minced patty. However the chef appeared to have fried the steak and then minced it! With nothing to bind it, it just fell apart and was somewhat tasteless. You live and learn.
I will gladly return to The Westminster in the future, but perhaps not the restaurant."
"Hôtel Excelsior is genuinely ideal for anyone’s city break in Nice. The staff are lovely, attentive, and will do their very best to assist you with any issues.
The pool is delightful, a great place to unwind, and although we didn’t dine at the hotel, I have no doubt that the restaurant is also lovely. The hotel’s lift is relatively small, and not great for more than 2 people, but the stairs are clean, spacious, easy access, and very much part of the hotel’s hallways, not in a separate area.
As for the rooms, they were simply perfect! We booked two separate rooms for a party of 4, and they were kind enough to position us perfectly next door to each other! We had two large beds, very comfortable, and no trouble for a great night’s sleep, a large and clean bathroom with a wonderful shower, and a super balcony with a great view of the life of the city below. We also had a mini fridge with price list, a safe, and a full wardrobe with hangers. Plenty of plug space and nice warm lights right by the beds as well. The rooms feel homely, with nice art and warmth, but still a touch of luxury.
The location couldn’t be more perfect. Literally a stone’s throw away from Nice-Ville station, and a very walkable 20 minutes from Old Nice, the loveliest area of the city, and the beaches. Not far at all from the tram line to the airport either, and the station has a car hire centre right next door.
I can’t recommend Hôtel Excelsior enough for any Côte d’Azur break, we’ll be back for sure!"
"We had an issue with room allocation on check in but the hotel was swift to offer a solution to us rather than it become an issue. I was impressed by their staff.
The room was spacious (suite), only issue was the bathroom floor was quite dirty and think over looked from the wider comprehensive clean.
The hotel provides a brilliant alternative to a more prominent (and expensive) option more central and further north and would not hesitate to return"
"This hotel has an outstanding location on the Promenade des Anglais and is within walking distance of the old town and the flower market. It is about 1 mile from the train station if you intend to use the train to get around but Uber is very quick, reasonable and will pick up right in front of the hotel and there are also buses that go up and down the promenade. The rooms are spacious and the seaside ones have great views. The breakfast was adequate with a few standard choices but was identical every day. The hotel has no gym, spa or beach club but otherwise very convenient and comfortable."
