The hosts, Cristina and Sonia, are extremely kind, helpful and friendly. ❤️ A generous breakfast is provided, but prospective guests should note that due to the area's remote location, they should arrange to have a car rental to access restaurants and other facilities. "5 stars are not enough for this extraordinary place. From the moment we arrived, Bernardo made us feel like family. The view is magnificent. The family style meals are delicious. All of the staff exhibit gracious hospitality and go out of their way to create a memorable experience. Highly recommend."

"This is an old house, with some interesting history & furnishings. It is not a hotel, it’s a B&B, with 3-4 bedrooms and the owners live upstairs. The ( ensuite) bathrooms are very dated. The ( included) breakfasts are served at 9am, but the staff are very helpful and did provide breakfast earlier when we asked. The house overlooks Regua across the River, it’s only a 20-minute walk into that town which has a couple of good restaurants for dinner. The town of Lamego is further, about a 15-minute...

"A estadia foi agradável, tem algumas àreas de melhoria nomeadamente a manutenção de algumas àreas no exterior, que está a sofrer alguma obras. Na decoração existe uma mistura de estilos que às vezes não funciona muito bem. Peças muito bonitas mas nem sempre estão colocadas harmoniozamente. Serviço nada a dizer."

"Spectacular B&B! The suite apartment was stunning, large and comfortable. Sparkling clean and also so beautifully decorated! The balcony has a beautiful view. The common areas are also amazing for hanging by the pool or grabbing a drink. The service was also incredible! Breakfast was delicious and very complete with lots of local charm. "

"Excellent hotel, first impression very good the reception team, due to our Platanium membership upgraded the room. They also helped in staying an extra night and keeping same room and arranging a wine tasting and lunch at the hotels winery 10 minutes away. Bar and restaurant serve great food and drinks and you can look over the Duoro river from both, and also eat and drink on the terrace. Rooms comfy and spacious - fabulous hotel to explore the Duoro - Pinhao is just 25 mins drive away. We had a great time here"

"We enjoyed this hotel. We had a lovely room with a terrace overlooking the Douro River. Dinner in the luxury dining room was excellent but expensive. Bar food was good and reasonably priced. The pool was nice. We enjoyed the town with winery visits and boat trips. The only really odd thing was that the bottom of the shower door does not come to the floor and water flooded the bathroom floor. This happened to our friends also, so it was not just our room. You learn to stand in one small spot to wash. Odd, I would say. "
