4/5 - Good

Horrible checkin process. Also your room has to pass inspection before you check-out or your 100 euro deposit is not refunded. Also you have to make and strip beds and haul the sheets and towels out.

The staff was friendly and engaging, and the property grounds are just lovely - sandstone patios and walks leading into views of the village cliffs.

Our room was spotless, well-equipped and supremely comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good. There is very little you would walk to from here, but if you have a car this is an excellent stop.

Be sure to visit the D'abri Cro-Magnon. beside the hotel. Looks modest but has some excellent interpretation and the walk in the woods, up almost to the valley top, is not to be missed for both views and lurking bison and wooley mammoths.
