Lovely place to stay/ lovely and quiet. Easy check-in. Lovely food and great service. Definitely consider staying here again. Close to lots of areas for lovely walks.

Excellent gem of a pub
We have stayed in many locations over the past few years and this one is simply one of the best. From the minute we arrived we both felt at home and the proprietors and all their staff made us very comfortable in this gem of a community pub. A special mention has to go out to Diana (I’m crap with names so excuse me if this is wrong) who worked tirelessly during our stay and was so full of energy even though she doesn’t appear to sleep. Room comfort,facilities, food and of course location all first class as we experienced a perfect couple of nights. Will definitely be back and if we could we would give this 6⭐️

Quaint and relaxed stay
A very welcoming stay, cosy pub, quite modern double bedroom, very comfortable, picturesque view. All the staff were great. Breakfast included and delicious. Evening meal in restaurant also excellent, home made, and all ingredients as local as possible. Definately recommend this, (although quite a drive out if the weather bad)

A very well appointed country Inn. The landlady and land lord and the rest of the staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. We hope to visit again.

Fabulous pub and great location
Arriving at The Foresters you will be met with a warm fire and a warm welcome. Paul and Dianna cannot do enough for all their guests, whether you are just popping in for a pint, dining or staying in the accommodation. Sometimes Dales pubs can be a little tired and scruffy, not this one! The whole place has been refurbished and in such a way that it retains the charm of a village pub. It is also immaculately clean. Rooms are comfortable and contain everything you may need, including a kettle, fridge and hairdryer. The hosts take care over the beer, wines and food they serve and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We were also able to join in with the weekly quiz. Finally, this pub is in a great location to walk Penhill and visit a host of lovely Dales villages in the area.

Lovely little pub in a picturesque village . The room was small but cosy and well equipped Bathroom small lovely shower Sink tiny Tap very loose and plug didn’t work Very small fault in a most enjoyable stay Hosts we’re lovely as were all the staff.Definitely recommend.

Community Pub
One night stopover. Room very nicely furnished. Lots of choice of teas, coffee, biscuits and mini fridge with fresh milk. Breakfast was very nice. Not much choice on the night time menu, but what they cook would appear to be very nice, we were unlucky as the specials weren't on for our night. The pub has three bedrooms and caters for all the nearby villages. Pricey but worth a stay.

The location was picturesque and very peaceful. The ancient building was quirky and well cared for. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was generous and delicious. The owners were experienced professionals who knew their business. Excellent value. We will return.

Lovely pub. It is a community owned pub and did feel that we were not part of the community. It did not spoil our experience and the room and food were very good.

A fabulous pub. The landlords are extremely knowledgeable about wines and beers and is therefore is very interesting to talk to. A really welcoming and special pub with a home from home feel and a super little Barny dog. An exceptional stay that will be long remembered.

Public house with very friendly staff. Close to Leyburn, Middleham and all of Wensleydale. Room was very clean with a glass of port to welcome us. Nice to have fresh milk and bottled water in a mini fridge in the room.

Short break after my Wife's operation.
We liked the atmosphere of the Foresters, as it was very relaxed. Mine hosts,Keith and Leslie were friendly and helpful. Room,although small was comfortable and had a good shower and toilet. A hearty breakfast every day and the evening menu had a good selection. In the bar, there were 5 real ales,a large selection of gins/tonics and a good wine list. Although the Foresters was a little remote, it was quite busy most nights, with locals, walkers and other holiday makers. Altogether, we really enjoyed our short break.

Hidden Gem
Although we only stayed one night, this pub is well run, extremely comfortable with tremendously hospitable hosts. The food was great and the room was very well appointed with a lovely view. Off the beaten track but it was well worth it. Would highly recommend this hidden gem

This is a very friendly and welcoming place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was excellent, and they were able to prepare vegetarian meals at short notice. Good range of beers, including Timothy Taylor Landlord. Overall an enjoyable weekend, marred only by the weather!

Menu not on the website. No reply to email to book dinner and for menu. There is no where else to eat nearby. Chips hard in centre. No starters which we liked. Limited sweet menu. Breakfast, declined sausage but only one rasher of bacon. Plates cold. No marmalade, because they had not had any shooting parties. Only one jam in packets. Claimed could not get staff but owner trying to do too much. Pub was busy with drinkers and dining.
