"This was my second time staying here. This is a classic old-school hotel, steeped in San Francisco history. Walls have lovely historical photos; it’s a real lesson in the area!! There is a small breakfast served that gets the job done. Happy hour wine really rounds out the warm amenities. The location, across from Golden Gate Park, cannot be beat."

"The room needs updates; all the wall ports were very loose, carpets are stained and it smelled like a closet. The bed was very comfortable though and the water pressure was great. Our view was not of the water or the Ferris wheel but of the lower levels roof. In the end I’m glad we only used it to sleep as the hotels is conveniently right in the center of everything that you want to see in San Francisco so it outweighed the negatives."

"As a solo traveler, I liked the safety of the hotel and its location. Lovely lobby can sit by fireplace indoors or by firepit outdoors. Restaurant available. Tasty. Only negative I encountered was that the ac/heat unit in the room smelled musty for the first 24 hours; then it was fine. Would recommend as a hotel."

"the property was cleaned very well, not a problem .things were a bit worn but not terrible. the only thing i was disappointed in is that there was not a mini fridge in the room, that would have been nice to keep things cold . they did have an ice machine ,soda machine and snack machine available ,and it was great that there were deli's and cafes next door. location was nice ."
