For my best friends 50th birthday, I booked this room promoted and propped up by this website. All communication with the property was through what’s app. Communication prior to arrival was good. Showed up, met a contact, walked up to the 4th floor. Room smelled musty but seemed fine overall. Contact opened the balcony door immediately let the fresh air in, while pointing out each of the things that were broken that needed a special or certain turn or shake to work. The contact had a lot of nervous energy as she removed a pile of soaking rags from the shower drain and mopped up a puddle on the floor. She mentioned the bathroom might flood so this mop is here if I need it. The shower had a steady loud drip. When I pointed it out she closed the door and said ‘fixed’ but mentioned the rooms were sold out and if the noise bothered us she would call a plumber the next day. Once she left the room, I investigated at the dripping shower and noticed black mold spots as seen in attached images. We grabbed our bags and booked a room up the street. I messaged the contact, she offered to clean the shower if we wanted to come back but did not offer a refund. I contacted this website, they contacted the property and said they offered another room and I refused. Not only did the contact tell us the rooms were booked prior when she offered a plumber I have the written transcript. Overall why is the gnome approving this room and why doesn’t the gnome have my back? no refund, no accountability

Good value
This property is located right in the middle of the Barrio Alto bars. It gets a little noisy but that didn’t really matter to me. The studio I rented was a nice size and had everything I needed for the weekend. The apartment could do with a bit of a makeover, but it’s excellent value and the staff were very nice. I will definitely stay here again

There’s better properties
This is a pretty rough property. The manager accessed our room and organised maintenance during our stay, and access the room even though we asked her not to. This was for an issue which she knew about prior to our arrival (although she didn’t think to mention any planned works on checkin?). It all felt a bit sus. The hotel is noisy even early in the week.

Dear GuestFirst of all, we sent you a message about the maintenance if you didn't read it's your fault. Second, the air conditioning was leaking water and we could either fix it or shut it down. Probably we should have shut it down and you could cope with the heat without it.

Overall would have been a decent place to stay for the price, however the deluxe apartment #1 had an overwhelming sewage smell from the bathroom pipes due to the location. We did ask about it, and were advised that nothing could be done as it is due to the river being high and the old plumbing in that area. We ended up checking out after one night as the smell was so intense. There was good communication from the owner/property manager but unfortunately as it was a non-refundable property we were out the amount for the other four nights we paid for.

This property has great reviews so I was surprised when I got there. Location is great, but other than that I was not impressed. There was a spider in the bedroom right when we got in. The bathroom smelled musky. Both AC units you could not change the temperature. It was set to 25 Celsius and you could not increase or decrease. I knew this was in a party area so I was expecting it to be loud but just so other people know, you can hear the music from the bars until they close around 2am and then you hear people coming into the building. I must admit that communication with the property was amazing and that was the only perk. I would not stay here again, especially for the price.

Dear GuestI'm sorry you didn't like it. It's normal to have insects in this apartment because there is a patio and once you open a window it's normal to let them in. I don't understand your comment about the AC because it works perfectly and the temperature can be changed. Anyhow if there was a problem you should have contacted us and we would fix it. Regards

We loved our stay and DoBairro Suites. Great apartment, easy access, very clean, and a perfect location for our travel. Lively neighbourhood, walkable to many historical sites, restaurants and nightlife. Bairro Alto is a must see/stay neighbourhood. Thank you Lucia for being a great host!!

We loved our stay! It’s in the center of the party at night. It’s also near cafes and restaurants. Host responded quickly when we texted and emailed them. The apartment has a huge nice balcony.

A large, well maintained one bedroom apartment with complete kitchen, including oven, and separate air conditioners. Luisa was tremendously helpful when Iberia lost one of our bags and the owner responded quickly to our text messages.

Our suite was fine and had everything that was identified however we had one huge issue and that was the noise from below on the street and the bars along the street. The thumping music ended about 2:00am but hollering and singing of the drunks continued through 4:00am. Terrible sleep. Even though there is a new multi-pannelled balcony window that reduces noise, the decibels outside are high. Recommend asking for a suite on the back-side of the building. We were locked out of the suite at one time and needed to call to let us in. Unfortunately I had turned the door key to the left instead of to the right and the door was double locked. The information sheet in the suite should explain this outcome.

Dear Guest. The neighborhood has lots of bars and restaurants and that's why we have installed triple glazed soundproof windows. Also, you stayed there on Easter weekend which is more crowded than usual. About the lock on the door, every lock in Europe works this way and we didn't find it necessary to explain it on the information sheet. We have never had this problem with any other customer. Usually, when you try to unlock the door to one side and doesn't work you try to the other side. Regards

Mouldy bathroom. Broken balcony doors that won't open. DIRTY floor throughout. DIRTY and SMELLY bedding. Great location but sadly in the hands of rogue investors that won't care for the property. Overall very disappointing stay.

Fun for four days
We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. The neighborhood is very lively at night with bars, fado, restaurants. It's definitely better for young people, but you'll enjoy it either way.

Good location but not for family with kids
The communication from the staff was timely and very proactive. Response was prompt as well. Location of the apartment is good, very close to all key attractions. However the apartment is in resident only driving lane with very steep incline for around 100-200 meters. We drove in a rented car and had to park at one of the car parks and then drag our suitcases and baby stroller all the way up. Even throughout our trip, the last bit of dragging our boy up in the stroller was a project and location is not best for family with small kids and luggage. Apartment has a communal washing machine and dryer not in the apartment. No washing powder/liquid is provided Apartment did not have any internal door locks, was a nightmare to hold our 2 year son while you the other person is inside toilet or changing in a room. The window and balcony open in the backyard terrace of other apt with junks and you wont want to see that, so in affect hardly any fresh air or daylight. No kitchen paper towels are provided, however provided and extra fabric kitchen napkin on request. The toilet light is programmed to switch on and off even when you press it on which is very irritating when you are inside the toilet. We figured a lot of bulbs were not working when we moved in, raised and they were changed immediately. Bed is small, though the extendable sofa bed does work out but we had to sleep seperate with the baby. Cot bed is chargeable. No Elevator

Dear Guest I'm sorry but there are some wrong information on your review. The cot bed is not chargeable. The toilet light is not programmed to switch off. We don't provide kitchen paper towels or washing powder/liquid because it is a self catering apartment. If you open the windows and curtains you will get light and fresh air and other apartments don't affect it. The apartment doesn't have any locks on the doors exactly to avoid kids to lock inside a room. Best regards

Das Apartement liegt mitten in der Altstadt- nicht weit weg von schönen Plätzen! Leider aber such über lauten Kneipen - die Musik von 20 Uhr bis ca 2.30 nachts spielen. Da hilft leider auch nicht die doppelte Verglasung oder Ohrsttöpsel. Im Apartement ist Alles in der Küche das was mann braucht und auch ein Supermarkt in der Nähe! Es fehlen Haken an der Wand!

Appartement assez bruyant
L'immeuble dans lequel se trouve l'appartement loué jouxte un immeuble où se trouve un bar musical : à partir de 20 heures et jusqu'à 2 heures du matin, musique tonitruante, bien audible même toutes fenêtres fermées. La climatisation est réversible et donc sert de chauffage en hiver : malheureusement celle de notre chambre était couplée à une autre climatisation, et arrivés le vendredi après-midi elle n'a fonctionné que jusqu'au samedi, alors que nous restions jusqu'au mardi !

Service var ok, rengøring var ikke godt. Der var meget larm fra gaden om natten, de spillede høj musik til kl 03 . Lokal områd var godt.

About the noise, it is true there is a lot of persons on the street at night but the windows are soundproof and if you close it you wouldn't hear a thing. regards
