The entire property needs to be updated. Old furniture also needs to be replaced. Book early and pay extra for sea and beach view because the view is priceless. The location probably makes up for the outdated property.

The view of the beach was wonderful, really great to see the lighthouse across the bay too. Hearing the ocean when the window was opened was so relaxing. The pool was an excellent alternative when the ocean was too crowded or too harsh.

Location was fantastic. They need more food options. Breakfast was so limited, like bread and hard boiled eggs. And the beach restaurant was not great and so expensive and really the only option unless you want to walk 20+ minutes on the sand to another beach bar.

You definitely cannot beat the location, it was magical. The pool was large and lots of chairs. The rooms were nice and clean and the cleaning ladies were by far the friendliest people at the hotel. We were not greeted, we passed by staff constantly and they basically ignored us. They have a new team taking over the pool activities, it was their first week trying drinks, music and food by the pool. The workers were rude and did not care we were there. Will we be back? I'm not sure if we will stay at this hotel, but we will be back to the same area, maybe give another hotel a try.

The overall place was very clean and functional. Large bedrooms, comfy beds, quality bed linens, very hot and powerful showers. As noted elsewhere, the place needs extensive redecoration as the 1970s is no longer that fashionable. The views were great, the bar and restaurants had great quality dishes (and good choice for such an isolated place). All staff (housekeeping, restaurant, reception) were extremely friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel with a lot of history and charm. Regardless of whether or not it’s been updated, it’s a locally owned hotel by a man who is over 90 years old that’s dedicated his life to the spirit of the hotel. This, in itself, is what gives the hotel 5 stars. Outstanding service, breakfast, unbelievable views and pure serenity with a piece of original history of Cascais left in your heart after departing.
