"Our stay at Princess Senses The Mangrove was exceptional. We experienced both the adults-only and family sides of the resort through our group, which gave us a full view of the property, including accommodations, amenities, and service.
The rooms were modern, spacious, and beautifully designed. The swim-out suite was a highlight, offering direct pool access from the terrace for easy relaxation throughout the day. The hot tub suites were also highly enjoyed for their more private outdoor experience. On the adults-only Platinum side, the rooms featured double showers and stunning ocean views that added to the luxury feel.
Service across both properties was consistently excellent, with warm and attentive staff throughout the resort. Despite the size of the property, everything felt well-run and guest-focused.
Platinum amenities, including exclusive dining and rooftop pool access, added a more elevated and relaxing experience.
Dining was consistently strong, with fresh, flavorful food across restaurants and buffet options and no disappointing meals during our stay.
Entertainment was varied and enjoyable, from evening shows and live music to karaoke, sports bar energy, and nightlife options, offering something for everyone without feeling overcrowded.
Overall, this resort delivered a polished and memorable experience, and with over 50 guests in our group, the consensus was clear — Princess Senses The Mangrove is highly recommended, and we would return."
"Absolutely loved our stay! The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful the entire trip, and the breakfast was great every morning. The beach view was beautiful and made the whole experience even better. We had an amazing time and would definitely come back again!"
Azul Beach Resort Negril, Gourmet All Inclusive by Karisma
2/10 Terrible
"I actually did not stay. The property was not up to the standards that I like in a hotel. I put in a refund with Azul which was granted. I was only on property for approximately 45 minutes. Property is old. They only were serving hamburgers for lunch. Definitely not the level of hotel which i would stay in. The online looked good and reviews read decent, but the actual hotel was not up to par."
"My biggest issue with RIU Palace Negril was the cost of adding a guest. Before arriving, I checked online and spoke with RIU representatives, who indicated it would cost about $400 to add someone to my room. I was told I couldn't modify my reservation because the hotel was sold out, even though I wasn't changing rooms - I wanted to add a guest.
When I arrived, I was informed the actual cost would be over $800. At that point, I had no realistic choice but to pay it. Had I known the true cost in advance, I would have made a different decision. My room was about $1,100, so for only a few hundred dollars more my guest could have had their own room and bed.
Other issues included:
The room I selected with two beds was not provided, forcing my friend and me to share a bed.
The A/C was not adjustable.
The TV didn't work.
There were only two outlets in the room.
My reservation was changed when I added a guest, and I couldn't check in without them present.
A fire alarm went off at 6:51 a.m.
The floor outside our room stayed wet throughout our stay despite reporting it.
Food quality was below expectations.
Only one bar remained open after 6 p.m., and it consistently smelled like sewage.
The pool closed at 6 p.m.
Taxi prices were excessive—about $40 per person for a 15-minute ride.
Overall, I left feeling frustrated by the pricing practices and disappointed by the overall experience and the hotels communication. Confirm all pricing and room arrangements in writing before booking."
Sunset at the Palms Resort - Adults Only - All Inclusive
6/10 Okay
"Gorgeous Polynesian effects of the structural theme. I am an avid World traveler, my review comes from knowing vast cultures
-no pride in keeping the wood maintained
- rain gutters not maintained
- grounds have beautiful vegetation but simple aspects such as clipping off dead leaves, weeds, not well respected by staff.
-staff often times were not smiling, appeared to not seem happy, most staff but not all seemed cold, no pride in representing their resort and country to guests/tourists who have come to visit and enjoy their country.
-my room was just fine, it was amazing for listening to nature all night and the rain storms!
-the food was ok, same mostly daily. i am not picky about that , but some guests I had met did not like it.
- I did not like drinking my cocktails from cafeteria style cups and plastic stemware
-A Jamaican is the owner of this property. I would like to see him take more pride in staffing a good foundation of employees excited to represent his brand to travelers excited to explore Negril.
- Coffee bar is a cute idea, coffee was very weak.
- Staff was always picking up tableware as if they were closing down way too soon. Tables should be left made up until complete closure of dining hours not while guest are still eating , sitting. Guests that arrive towards closing should not feel as though they cannot still sit for their meals.
- I observed staff daily sitting on their cell phones, not interacting with guests."
