"The,Royal Oak is an old Hotel. So things need a little updating. However our room had everything posh hotels have. Beds very comfortable. Lovely white clean towels and bedding. Tea & coffee making facilities etc. We had pur evening meal in the their restaurant and it was very nice. The breakfast was all locally sourced and off a really good quality. The staff were very friendly and polite. We need to support our independent Hotels."

"The hotel was lovely, Clean, warm and friendly. I ate in one evening and the food was excellent. Served promptly, hot and plentiful. My experience with the hotel was very good but my experience with hotels.com not good at all. I booked a pay on arrival at the hotel but 3 days beforehand the fee was taken from my bank account to pay a hotel with the same name, but 250 miles away. This led to my bank account being blocked and me being stranded away on holiday without access to my funds. The hotel are trying to help in this but it us the booking company at fault - and so far they have done absolutely nothing to help!"
