The staff were extremely friendly. Everything was nice and clean in the room but the kitchen was kind of gross. It needs a good deep clean. The toaster oven was disgusting.

The privacy of the beds! Even though I was in an 8 people room, my bed felt really private!

The Hostel is very close to two Metro Stations which makes it convenient if you are travelling to Downtown LA or Universal Studios. They organize various activities like Runyon Canyon Hike, Hollywood Pub Crawl, Santa Monica Beach shuttle bus so you are sure to find something to suit your taste. You can make your own waffles or pancakes for breakfast and coffee, juice, toast etc is provided by the hostel. The staff is really friendly and helpful and I did not have any issues during my stay.

Date night in Hollywood
We stayed here because we were seeing a show at the Hollywood bowl, so it was a perfect location! It was right off Hollywood blvd a block from everything! We got there and looking for parking was obviously the first thing we needed to figure out. There’s a lot right across the street and about a half a block down there’s another one. We ended up choosing the one down from the hostel because the guy seemed more trustworthy and there was a gate. Either way it was $30 for over night, that kinda sucked. We checked in and the employees were super nice. We got a private room and it was super nice for a hostel we were impressed.. hostel price your own room with a bathroom, can’t beat that!! I would totally stay here again for sure.

Thank you for your feedback! The AC can only work properly if all windows remain closed, but it is working. We clean the bathrooms twice a day but are happy to send someone out additional times if needed, please feel free to notify staff next time. :)

Nice place, clean and roomy rooms. One staff member was a bit grumpy with everyone so it kinda brought the mood down a bit, and from speaking to other guests, he is usually always like that. Not the cheapest place to stay in Hollywood, but one of the better hostels given the location

What I like about the property was that is was near virtually every attraction that I wanted to see, It was near Hollywood Blvd. I was able to access my tours from the location.

This was my first time at a hostel, so I didn't know what to expect. It was very clean. I stayed here 3 nights and every day when I left I saw them cleaning. When I came back from my day of fun, the bathroom was cleaned and trash was taken out. I loved the big lockers and the extra privacy protector on the bunkbed. My charger and lights worked within the bed as well. the area is alright there are homeless people around, but I felt safe during my stay. this area is close to all the attractions nearby . I took lyft and walked everywhere. The staff were very friendly. I would stay here again.

USA Hollywood Hostels Review
In general, it was a fairly positive experience. A halfway decent continental breakfast in the morning. A few nights, some other guests made too much noise in my room. Also, I lost a few quarters on a washer. My money was promptly refunded and that’s good. I received a pretty dimwitted response when I mentioned that an “out of order” sign should be placed over the washer that was apparently nonfunctional. His response was “the light’s out, that should tell you what you need to know. “ That was a pretty callous response and it does not tell one anything. It’s not enough for just a light to be out in a washing machine. An “out of order” sign needs to be placed over a no functioning washing machine so that it is unequivocally clear that it is nonfunctional. That response was pretty callous, assanune, and apathetic. Other than those few things, it is a pretty good value. The tours are wonderful.

I loved my stay at the hostel. The staff were super helpful and interesting, and they offer a ton of free tours, shuttles, and activities. Take advantage of these - the group trips are a great way to make friends. The accomodations are very clean and comfortable but I definitely recommend bringing earplugs - it can get pretty loud in a room with seven other women, and the room WILL fill up on the weekend!

Good stay, poor customer service
Convenient location, walkable to lots of activities. Reception service was well below average. Except for one lady, all reception staff I interacted with seemed like they didn't want to be there, like their job was a huge inconvenience to their day and I observed on multiple occasions, the reception staff talk to people as if they were stupid for not knowing how the hostel was being run. One guy asked about an activity on the brochure but apparently it wasn't on the board. The female receptionist kept repeating "if it isnt on the board it's not happening." Just kindly explain that you are unable to host that event today and suggest an alternative. Some guys where even complaining about work in front of guests. The event hosts were fun and friendly, made some new friends while there. Breakfast was done well. The kitchen crew were nice, respectful and accommodating. Male housekeeping staff member was cleaning bathroom, I thought a roommate was inside. He did not make sure female guests knew he was in the room. Post a note on the door so we see it before entering and beginning to change clothes.

Really enjoyed my stay here. It was good enough for me to sleep and shower. I got lucky and had super respectful roomies. Only negative was the smell of the linens but aside from that I had a good experience.

Nice hostel but rough area
As I've read in previous reviews the hostel itself is nice enough, has good facilities and feels safe. The area around it though is quite rough and doesn't feel safe. I don't see it as a reason not to stay there but I wouldn't venture out in the area on my own at night. The location itself is right next to The Hollywood Walk of Fame and Chinese Theatre. As with other USA Hostels I stayed in the power sockets on the beds and lockers is very handy and also the bed light. Overall a good stay at the USA Hostel.
