"Excellent location - highly recommend! Stayed here (Aug 2026) and was very pleasantly surprised! The hotel is right next to the train station which was incredibly convenient - just a stone's throw from the street Bahn stops The staff was very friendly and helpful, and even gave me a one-day pass to ride the city's bus system / street Bahn. The whole place was very clean. Great amenities too - there's an ice machine with dispensing filtered water, and the rooms were nice and cool (Summer time) and comfortable Perfect location, clean, friendly, and great value. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Really useful location for the train station and great for the hotel to have a swimming pool. Had problems with our door key (we were there three nights and they only set it up for one) but staff sorted it quickly. Corridors looking a little dated and worn, but room was nice."
Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel

"The location was excellent, except for the many steps to get down to the old city. If you have knee trouble (like me), it’s not the best choice, but if you have strong knees, it’s wonderful. Very friendly staff, quiet but central location, about 10 minutes’ walk from most sites."

"What a lovely, charming hotel. The staff were great, especially Nicholas who went out of his way to help us navigate and suggest things. The breakfast and breakfast staff were great too. Highly recommend for the wonderful location and access to transportation."

"A great location just by the Railway Station and 10 minutes' walk to the Old Town. The Movenpick is a beautiful modern hotel. Staff are very helpful and the rooms are wonderful - we had a great city-wide view from the 9th floor. Highly recommended!"

"The room and bed were great. The staff was very accomodating by allowing us to leave our luggage while we toured the old town before boarding our cruise ship. The location was right next to old town with a convenience store just across the street. Highly recommend."
