"The property was in a lovely location and handy for local amenities! Very quiet and lovely to sit outside and listen to the bagpipes on a morning!
The only down side was the drive down to the property and the potholes if they were filled in it would have been a much easier drive in and out. "
"The cottages are immaculate, well equipped and luxurious. The owners haev gone to great lengths to make the stay comfortable adn enjoyable. Highly recommended"
"We stayed at this property for 2 nights. The host’s communication was timely and efficient, we also appreciated the early check-in and the option to store our luggage after check-out.
However, we encountered an unexpected issue. The property is spread over two levels, upon arrival, we naturally explored the space. There are three doors downstairs—two locked and one leading to the laundry room, which was unlocked. Assuming the washing machine was available for guest use, we did a load of laundry...
"It done what it said a clean place to stay while visiting had everything we needed. Quite building nice neighbours. Walkung distance to shops and food place 5 min from pub. Warm cosy flat. Definitely booking again. "
"Pier view is a lovely little house with everything that you will need in a home from home. The views from the property are amazing and Mesmerising. There is plenty to see and do in the area too with walks and botanical gardens close by and not to far away from supermarkets and shops if needed. Would highly recommend if you
just want to get away from it all and relax."

"Brilliant hotel. Very professional, friendly and helpful, from the initial contact with the reception staff, restaurant servers right to the housekeeping and the handyman.Food quality was absolutely lovely and all locally sourced, from the steaks, fish and even the local bakery. The room was very clean, large and comfortable, with a spotless balcony and a wonderful view. I'm very picky but found no problem with any of the above.
One small point arose on our stay, the fire alarm test was on the Tuesday at 1.10pm. Might be a good idea to tell the residents that, just in case some are having an after lunch "siesta". Apart from that loved it "
Buchanan Arms Hotel & Leisure, Sure Hotel Collection
10/10 Excellent
"This was our second stay in the Buchanan Arms Hotel and we were not dissapointed.
Lovely lounge/bar/conservatory area. We enjoyed our dinner in the hotels restaurant and staff were friendly.
We will be back :)"
"Booked this hotel for 2 nights based on the room pictures. Then I saw the exterior picture!
Arrived late afternoon, driving along a tatty driveway, into an almost empty carpark that looked more like waste ground with an abandoned car in the corner.
The hotel looked derelict. What I assume might have been a swimming pool building looked filthy.
Inside the foyer and reception were amazing. My room was just like in the pictures. A little bit dusty, a little bit worn.
But it felt like being in some kind of surreal experience. When I went out for the evening and came back, reception was deserted. Ditto the next day.
I don't know if this is in the middle of a refurbishment or what.
And no wifi in the rooms. I think you could "plug in" to the internet, but no wifi on the 6th floor."
"Pizzas are amazing! Room was clean, fresh and we got a good night's sleep. Pool areas amazing too! Lovely staff, would return. My we bit burnt himself at breakfast and the staff were absolutely outstanding. "
"Fantastic location for a nights stay before travelling to Islay from Cumbria. Amazing views across Long Loch. Hotel was spacious but a wee bit dated. Food was delicious and all the staff we encountered were really friendly "
