"I just needed a place to sleep so I could spend my days at the beach. This was a very affordable hotel for me travelling alone and I found the staff very accommodating and friendly. The outside of the building in the back didn’t look the neatest and the pool did not have water in it as something had broken and it was not fixed when I stayed there. It also was far away from the town so I had to walk five minutes to take a fifteen minute bus ride to the beach and back every day, which was fine for...

"Very nice private beach. Rooms - we had a bungalow- are totally ok, yet need a refresh/update. Breakfast was very good, friendly stuff, non problem at all to stay longer even though bf ended at 10am. We enjoyed our time at Il Pelagone- many thanks!"

"It hurts a bit to have to pay 115€ for a 3-star hotel that looks like we're back in the 90'ies... On top of that, there was no hot water... Honestly, this hotel should cost max. 50-60€ per night, but they understand it's "tourist season", so they're ripping people off. Staff and breakfast were great."

"Wonderful stay – highly recommend! Beautiful complex in a quiet countryside setting, with a large pool and plenty of sunbeds. Breakfast was included, and dinner at the hotel was excellent value: buffet starters, two dishes from the menu, and unlimited dessert. As seafood lovers, we were very happy with the choice. Breakfast and dinner were so generous we didn’t need lunch. Staff were fantastic — special thanks to Tati at reception, the restaurant team, and Francesco at the pool. Everything was spotless. Only drawback: Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room or the pool, so we used mobile data. Location is peaceful yet convenient, about an hour to Pisa and 25 minutes to the beach. We’d happily return in the near future"

Every detail is thoughtful, from the refined, rustic design of the rooms to the organic bath products made right on the estate. We especially loved the infinity pool carved into the limestone—it offers one of the most stunning views in all of Tuscany. The food was exceptional—fresh, seasonal, and sourced from the property’s own biodynamic farm. Whether enjoying a multi-course meal at Villa Pignano or a wood-fired pizza under the stars at Al Fresco, every bite told a story of the land. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the sense of peace and authenticity. The staff were gracious, warm, and quietly attentive—always there when you needed them, but never intrusive. "This cute hotel is a 1-minute walk to the beach! It is a little outside of central Follonica, but totally walkable. We are a family of three and we walked to town every night for dinner and gelato. We also walked to and from the train-station with heavy backpacks. They do have bikes to rent at the hotel, and Follonica provide small trains after 17:30 that take you to and from town until midnight. Very clean and great buffet breakfast! Would highly recommend! "
