Good location but poor poor service
No one at the front desk to ask for towels so they scorned us for finding extra towels on our own to soak up the water from a leaking toilet. Toilet leaked in my friends room and my aunt’s room as well. They did not provide towels for my aunt’s room. No wash cloths. When you sit on the toilet in room 301 your knees will be touching the wall in front of you. Water from the faucet was brown, it may be water from the local river. The only good thing about this place is the location from the base of Machu pichu

Good place for a one night stay near Machu Picchu
Nice small hotel. Convenient location, very helpful staff, kept our baggage before and after check in/out. No outside windows and spotty hot water. Good buy in an expensive town.

Terrible!
Booked this hotel knowingly it was cheap but not so cheap $50 for a night stay. We thought we would have hot water and electricity. Next morning there was no electricity nor hot water. We used our iphone flash to get ready to go up to Machu Picchu. People running around and talking loud on their phones on the corridors at nights - couldn't get sleep. Take my advice spend few more bucks and get a decent hotel because you don't want to ruin the highlight of the trip - Machu Picchu.

This place is about as middle of the road as it gets. It's not great and it's not bad. The beds are reasonably comfortable and the rooms are clean with hot water. The building is an open air building though so all of the noise from outside will be heard in your room. It is close to the rail lines, but most places are. Do not expect any sort of service as it is just two high school kids manning the front desk. The breakfast in the morning is paltry compared to other places that charged similar rates. Get there early as they just leave the food sitting out the entire time. One plus is the Wi-Fi is particularly strong.

Nice and clean hotel. Very basic amenities, good location but not so nice view out of the window. Breakfast was not really good. Ideal only if you are planning to sleep overnight before heading to Machu Pichu.

Flickering lights and unstable shower temperature
The hotel is close to the train station which is convenient but our hotel room had a flickering light, we requested a double bed and got 3 small beds instead which took up a lot of space. The shower was disappointing as it was fluctuating between hot and cold.

Very pleasant stay in Machu Picchu
The double room was attractively furnished; the location was excellent--close to the railway station and bus station in Machu Picchu, but also not too noisy. The staff were friendly, and a substantial breakfast was served from 5 AM onwards to accommodate the people who wanted to get an early start (which was practically everyone).

A pleasant surprise
stayed as a stopover for machu pichu, so chose pretty much the cheapest option. small town but this was still well located. very helpful service, they were even on hand when we left at 4am and had a packed lunch/breakfast for us which was a nice touch. the room was more than I was expecting - very clean and looked nice. No window though which was odd, but we weren't staying long so not a problem. Bathroom was clean and the shower was good - decent pressure and hot water for 3. A little small though, and the layout meant it wasn't easy to sit on the toilet (knees would hit the wall in front, even for someone of 5'2.

Trapezoids
The manager Dante created an environment like home. My room was spacious with two wonderful beds and polished wooden floors. I had a window near ceiling, but no view. But that was not a problem: comfy bed, optimal temperature, and so quiet! Fourth floor has a nice view, balcony for smokers, and breakfast. I felt like I was at home.

Clean little hotel
Stayed one night there before heading to machupichu. We arrived there by the last train around 9pm., unexpectingly the hotel is very nice to pick up us at the station! The host is nice and friendly and tried to help us to settle down asap. Serving breakfast starting from 5am which is good if you plan to climb up to the hill in the early morning. It is a small hotel, basic and clean. Just our room is aliitle bit odd that the only window in the room is facing to the corridor! I think you need to remark that when you book the room.

Good hotel and location
Booked this hotel to stay 1 night before going to see the ruins of Machu Picchu. Overall, it was a very good place to stay and I would recommend it. Beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was a little far from the train station in comparison to other hotels but one of the reason why I was looking for one not close to the rail roads was the noise. I was happy with my choice and I would do it again.

Nice staff friendly and nice rooms
I would recommend this place. The staff was nice, while we where out they stored our bags after the check out time as we went on our Machu Picchu trek. It's was so hot and sunny that wen we got back to the hotel before getting on the train we asked if it would be possible to take a shower and they gave us a room for 2h wile we got ready and waited for our train. The staff came to meet us at the train station to walk us to the hotel as its so close and no car can go down the streets he even helped us with our bags. Great breakfast upstairs. It's a little noisy as they are constructions around but that hole area would have the same problem. They event lent us some towels to bring to the hot springs as we had non and we didn't wanted to use the ones in our rooms. Yes the rooms are little small but how much room do you really need ;)

Terrible, no hotel help or people to greet you.
This was an awful experience. We traveled throughout Peru and made a reservation the night before headed to Machu Pichu. We arrived to a a dimly lit hotel. No one was at the desk for over 20 minsutes to greet us or check us in. We walked upstairs to find a hotel employee, but NO one was there at all. It was all dark, all empty rooms and no one to assist us. After waiting in the lobby, we walked down the street to another hotel and luckily made a reservation for that night. By now it was after 11pm! Never heard from the hotel. They do not use the internet and we had no way of contacting them . It was an awful and scary experience.

No toilet paper in bathroom. No bathmat in bathroom. we were promised breakfast at 5 am but at 5:15 there was nothing at all, we woke up the front desk person and she said she would make coffee....we said no thanks. If we had known, we'd have gotten our own breakfast foods before our Machu Picchu hike.Don't promise something you won't deliver.

Hotel clean and nice, confortable bed, very well located. On the negative side, the bathroom was very small and the room was noised (window to the lobby) We left very early and they gave us a breakfast in a bag, they also kept our luggage until the afternoon. I would say that the hotel was according to the price

No rest for the weary.
Noisy from checkout to check-in. Construction going on across street all day and soccer stadium noise until 2:00 am. No hot water at the sink. Scalding hot or freezing cold water in the shower. "Free breakfast" included an intestinal bug that lasted 3 days. This is a two-star hotel at best but it's over priced. Found a substantially cheaper and bigger/better room three blocks over.

Clean, close to everything, but pack ear plugs
We stayed at Eco Machu Picchu 2 nights (before and after MP). The hotel is located in a tiny town of Aquas Calientes. It is not in the touristy part of town, but that's not a big deal as you can walk everywhere in a couple of minutes. The room was small, but VERY clean. The floors are of plastic tile (great choice), they were shiny when we got in. The bathroom had a sink (only cold water), toilet and shower (hot water). The room had a TV and wifi. The only problem that we had was because of noise at night. We don't know if that was because of winter holidays there (we stayed 12/29-30 2014). The hotel is next to a local stadium where people play until late at night. It is adjacent and across of restaurants. We heard them too. How we dealt with it - ear plugs. Yes, it was annoying, but not the end of the world. For us cleanliness is more important. Not knowing how other places are, we would consider staying there if we go back.

This was a great hotel! Staff were really friendly and looked after my luggage for several hours after checkout. They were very kind and helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was small but accommodated everything. Close to Artesian market and Perurail station which is great. 5-10 minute walk to bus for Machu Picchu.

Great value for the $$!
For the price this is a great hotel in Aguas Calientes. Our group of 13 had just come off a 3 day Inca Trail hike and needed a hotel with a hot shower and decent place to stay as we were up early, checking out and headed back to Machu Picchu early in the morning. The showers were hot, the rooms nice and very clean, soft sheets and comfortable beds. It was a little hard to find and I would suggest having hair dryers in the rooms, as the whole hotel has to share just one or two, but other than that it was perfect!

Noisy
The hotel was more than adequate for the price. Breakfast was good, the room was clean. The only real problem was that the noise carries throughout the whole place. We were trying to get to sleep early, and the talking and tv in the lobby kept us up for hours. Noise from outside (construction, foot traffic, football pitch) also adds to the annoyance level.

Machu Pichu Retreat
The hotel's location is excellent for someone who needs to catch the train to Cusco or bus to Machu Pichu. It is newly renovated hotel with nice rooms and bathroom. The breakfast is nice and staff is helpful. The problem is with early check out at 9am. I extended the check out time by paying half of the rate what was fine because our train to Cusco was in the afternoon. After the hike to Machu Pichu, paying extra to take a shower and relax before the train departure was worth it. Avoid the restaurant next door - use restaurants on the main road. Highly recomending this hotel.

Best Hotel in Agua Calientes - Macchu Picchu
This hotel is quaint and has outstanding service. If you are seeking a comfortable hotel to stay after a long day in Macchu Picchu, this would be the best choice. The room is quaint and the beds are super comfortable, we almost overslept both days. The linen is clean and well taken care of. Everything is new in the hotel, from the floors to the tv's. They provided Direct Tv with English channels which was perfect. The breakfast consisted of a fruit salad, scrambled eggs, bread, papaya juice, and your choice of tea or coffee. The best hotel experience in Peru.

Excellent for one night
Much better than I was expecting. Clean, comfortable room. Soft bed. The bathroom was a tight squeeze, but nothing horrible. Easy walk to the train station. Not many restaurants nearby, most are across the river, the the town is small and it's an easy walk. Not all rooms have windows facing outside and those that do can get noisy. You can hear practically every word from the street and it kept up until late. A little difficult to find because the street isn't marked. Look for the soccer field at the top of the street.

Great deal, comfy bed, nice service - love!
Stayed for 1 night after 4 days on the Inca Trail. Room was so clean, looked like new gleaming tile floors. Bed was warm with great double-sheeting. Bathroom was small but fine and shower was hot! :) Service was so pleasant and friendly, despite limited English. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with fruit, bread, and egg made to order. A little hard to find, as end of street nearest the river has no signage. A few steps from the soccer field. Mark it on a map before you go. Save a little time to walk around town.

Simple, clean hotel near train station
This hotel was perfect for our one-night stay in Aguas Calientes after visiting Machu Picchu. Good water pressure and hot water in the shower - also nice hairdryers to borrow from the front desk (not like the dinky travel hairdryers at some places). Also just a 3-5 minute walk from the train station. By no means the warm reception you'd expect at a B&B, but clean and adequate.

What Do you want from life?
They are NICE people, kind, friendly and helpful. The hotel is a basic value hotel, small lobby with some sitting area and no elevator. 4 floors with the breakfast room on the top. The breakfast was small with a choice or eggs and rolls along with coffee and teas. The wifi was decent and there is cable but only CNN in English. The location is on the train station side and provides a quick walk to both train and bus. If you are looking for a value, this was a good choice
