The manager is a thief. He charged us 150.00 for an extra night. He is the one that cleans the rooms and makes it very very bad. The people across the street at the restaurant said that every body complains about him.

Great location!
Great location. Close to metros. Walking distance to restaurants and several beautiful and famous landmarks. Rooms were perfect for what we needed, a good rest. Very clean. I definitely would look to stay here again on my next visit. Thank you.

No reception, no service. The blanket is so dirty seems like never washed. The room is so small and there is no chair in the room. The toilet does not have enough space to sit down on it. The water of shower is so strong and it is easily to spread the water everywhere. When the hot water comes it is too hot, after that, it turns to very cold water. I felt cold each time when i took a shower, or got burned with the very hot water. In the midnight, a lot of noise came from outside, seems like somebody tried to use a key to open my door. The power was cut during my stay. I tried to call the reception, but he refused to pick up my phone. I did not know when i will get back the electricity. The hallway wss so dark without any window. I had to get into my room by walking a long dark hallway. My cell phone almost out of battery, I felt so scared at that time, no power no connection without cell phone. It was terrible experience. I will never recommend this place.

El hostal está en un lugar perfecto, pero las camas incomodas , el agua en la ducha como mismo está frisada que te puedes quemar , no hay aire acondicionado . Staff súper amables !!!

You get what you pay for. It's not a four-star hotel, it's a four-star value for money. Staff is accommodating. It's clean. I recommend you ask for a room away from the front windows, as there are two discos across the street which draw a loud crowd until the wee hours.

Noisy as hell but clean, I hope
The room itself was good, but the street was so noisy until 6 am, right below my balcony there are a bunch of bars or clubs and I could barely sleep. But to make things worse at 9 am, someone in the building, maybe the owner or a guest, started making so much noise, cleaning something up, or doing some construction work, but it was insane. I hope there was a good reason for that noise, yet no one apologized when I left or explained anything. And to not mention there's a noisy bar below your room is criminal, I would've found another place. Plus the check out is at 11 am, it should be 12 as in most places

Terrible experience. The property doesn’t have An elevators, the hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building, the air conditioning is terrible and on top of that it is controlled by management or owner and put on at 11 or 12 o’clock at night. Meanwhile, the weather was 90 degrees outside. Horrible experience.

You have to read first sir, we say on the page, we do not have elevator, and that we are on the second floor, air conditioner on the other hand is central, so sorry for your terrible experience.

We are really sorry you couldn´t see that our only individual room in all the hostel is with shared bathroom, bathroom that is shared with the owners not with any other gustes, so it is always clean and neat and we are in the centre that is why many guests prefer us, location could not be quiet but not my hostel.

Cozy room with balcony for a happy stay
Central location, 2mn walk from Sol, 10mn from Plaza Mayor or Gran Via. Cozy room, small balcony with bay window to take in the street scene outside (Christmas decorations, ...). A very happy stay.

Not bad for a budget stay
I’m not high maintenance so this was fine for me but there were a few things which could’ve been a deal breaker for some. There’s no elevator and the Hostal is on the 3rd level and for most of my stay the lights in the stairwell and hallway were not working so it was very dark. Other than that the staff was very nice and helpful. The location is excellent! Most sights I visited were about a 10 minute walk away. I didn’t have to use the metro cause it was that easy getting around on foot. Good place to stay if you’re on a budget.

My sister wanted to take a one hour nap, and the woman at the front desk said “shower ok, sleep in bed no”. I should have just said she was taking a massive dump in the room (this was at 2 pm) I’ve a private room for a reason, that reason being I like my space. If the woman the second day had been there there’d be no problem. Avoid if you have family checking in at a different hotel later... and there’s no free shuttle at all, and no blackout curtains

Good central hotel
The hotel was a little hard to find with the construction around it but it was a pleasant stay. The room is very comfortable and has air conditioning. Close to the metro, tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants. It was a little outdated but clean and friendly. Great value for price.

AMAZING LOCATION
AMAZING LOCATION!!!! Clean room, perfect for a budget traveler who wants a nice clean room in the heart of the city. We will definitely stay here again when we go back to Madrid. If you're on the fence about staying here give it a try. There is NO ELEVATOR so be aware that you have to climb 3 flights of stairs, which wasn't a problem for us, but it might be for others.

It is on an extremely loud street making it nearly impossible to sleep even with music headphones on all night. The condition of the place is quite poor compared to the other five places I stayed in Spain. It did not feel clean or taken care of and we were given the bare minimum with toiletries/supplies including only one cup for two people. I would never stay there again or recommend it. And wifi was horrible and no one was available to problem solve at the front desk. I stayed in Barcelona, Corboda, Seville, Granada and have stayed in Madrid previously. This is not worth the price for what you get.

Great location and very helpful staff
Small rooms but very adequate and comfortable. Not too noisy. 2 flights upstairs. Smells smoky in corridors but not in rooms. Staff were fantastic. Overall great little place and location.

Great value room , fantastic location
I stayed only the one night and was very happy with the room for the price . Location is fantastic right next to the Plaza de Santa Ana and is very central to all the tourist sights and plenty of good restaurants and bars . It is obviously not a luxury hotel but is very clean with excellent English speaking staff . Madrid bars stay open late so there is some noise at night but the plus side to that is that it is very quiet in the morning !!! Hot clean shower , clean bed , helpful staff, wi-fi was ok , fantastic location . I would certainly recommend it if you just want a good no frills base to explore the beautiful city of Madrid .

This hostel is perfect for a stay very central easy walking distance to everything, friendly staff very clean only problem may be the stairs for older people.The city is a very beautiful one however found on hop on hop off tour you need to get off as the trees block all the buildings and you cannot take any photos, be prepared for a lot of beggers as they are everywhere. Lots of fab restaurantes around but avoid cinco Jotas as the lady serving there is so rude she was unreal her manners did not excist no greeting threw the food at you when we got the wrong order not her problem and when we refused to pay for what we did not get said she would call police (we had not got the food she wanted us to pay for ) on a whole a nice city.
