"My daughter and I were very unhappy with the fact that for two nights in a row, there were loud parties going on downstairs late at night. When my daughter called the first night, she was told that she could move her room. When I called the second night, the staff member told me that he would take care of it, but it did not quiet down until almost midnight."

"Front staff varied - from excellent to just lip-service. We were upgraded - con! It meant we had a room on the third floor with no lift and a range of stairs in all directions. A mish-mach of furniture - not quite classy or executive as claimed :-) The water pressure was very low and the temperature low as well. We reported it but nothing was done to rectify nor were we even approached to clarify. My husband ordered a sandwich for dinner - yes a sandwich and he knew what he was ordering but was still taken back when it arrived - literally a sandwich I would make for my child’s school lunch. 2 pieces of white bread with a slice of salami, some cheese and mayonnaise. Really for a restaurant???"

"Grand building, but seems slightly dated and tired. The room was clean enough but had outdated furniture, TV etc. The WiFi was too slow and unstable to be usable, which coupled with the lack of phone signal was quite annoying. Breakfast was chaotic and not up to the standard we would've expected. Lots of guests waited for a long time for coffees, teas etc which didn't arrive. Most of the buffet was empty at middle of service. The spa was quite nice and had a decent pool and sauna. Overall not 5* quality. "

"We loved our stay here. Stylish, spacious and comfortable room with a modern bathroom. The pub and rooms had been recently refurbished with great care. We stayed in room 8 which backed out onto the courtyard behind the pub and had velux windows which you could watch the stars through. Despite being part of a pub, we found our room to be very quiet after 9pm. Breakfast was fantastic, the veggie option was delicious and the ingredients felt very high quality. Top notch poached eggs too! We ended up having dinner at the pub twice and it was great. Good beer and wine selection too. Shout out to Laura and Will for being wonderful and attentive. We parked at the pub and used it as our base to get the short bus into Bath - you could also easily get a bus from Bath to stay here if coming by train. We both said we’d come back in a heartbeat."
