Excellent sanctuary in busy Marrakesh
Fantastic stay at Riad Zayane - staff were brilliant, went out of their way to help and the Riad was a great calm luxury to step out of the busy streets of Marrakesh. Also very comfortable bed and really clean & tidy

An amazing oasis of tranquillity on the edge of the Medina. We would recommend Riad Zayane for anyone who wants to explore the old city and the markets.

So welcoming
Me and my boyfriend spent 5 nights at Riad Zayane. We were warmly welcomed by Jouvad on arrival and given some helpful information about Marrakesh-places worth visiting plus tips for staying savvy whilst out and about. We had a delicious meal too when we arrived- would recommend! Breakfast each morning was very good and substantial!! Sometimes it wasn’t clear what you were getting but all delicious. I couldn’t get enough of the freshly squeezed orange juice. Eating in the courtyard area was lovely and at times for both breakfast and evening meal it was like having your own private dining room. Our room was small but very nice and clean. Other rooms were bigger it seemed but fine for us as we came to see Marrakesh not spend time in a room. We didn’t experience it but we could imagine if there were noisy guests it could keep you awake and be prepared like anywhere in the Medina that there is a call to prayer at around 6am- maybe pack a pair of ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper or find it hard to drift off once awake. We also did a cookery course at the Riad which we really enjoyed doing and eating what we made after. We loved how quiet the Riad was after a day in the hustle and bustle. As we were there for new year Jouvad invited us all for drinks and nibbles which was a lovely treat and way to get chatting to the other guests. We would definitely visit again!

Beautiful Riad
Had an amazing 2 night stay. Hospitality was spot on. Decided to do dinner, which was totally worth it. All the food, breakfast included, was incredibly delicious. The decore was beautiful. Really enjoyed the stay.

Typical morrocan riad: Wonderful hospitality :-)
This a typical Moroccan riad: You walk through dirty and smelly streets, open a door and discover a little oasis of peace and luxury! To such an extent, that it is hard to leave it to discover Marrakech. In that regards, you should book at least one meal in the riad, to experience a Moroccan "at home" meal. Finally, while typical of the country, one is always charmed by the Moroccan kindness and sense of hospitality.

5 Night Stay Late November 2012
No TV, phone, mini frig or wifi in room. TV & free wifi in lobby only. Breakfast included coffee or tea, breads, jams, OJ, no meats, egg twice. Moroccan mint tea on arrival. Suggest you arrange with Riad for a taxi to meet you at airport or train station for 10 Euro & escort you to Riad. You will likely not find it yourself easily on arrival but you'll be fine after. Towels were rough & skimpily supplied. Our shower (ground floor room) had no place for soap & the glass cigar shaped liquid soap provided was difficult to use. Also the shower wand was broken. Room dimly lit but that's typical. No duvet so questionably clean blanket. They are especially concerned with water shortage. For a 5 night stay, our room was only checked once. Staff friendly enough & adequate English spoken. Not a 4 star in my opinion. More a 2 star. Roof terrace with no view but fine for relaxing. Petite taxi 20-30 dirhams to main square (about $2-$3) a little more at night. KFC & McDonalds if you're not adventurous with food. Hard bargaining when shopping gets old. They start with rediculously high prices. Walk away. There's more of the same everywhere if they don't accept your price. Expect to pay for pictures you take. And be very careful you don't get run down by the motorbikes especially. A fellow guest had her purse snagged & she was knocked down. Enjoy the cultural shock & be generous if you can.

Charming Staff
I had stayed at one of the most expensive resorts outside Marrakesh the prior night, so staying in the Medina is a bit of an adjustment. Riad Zayane was clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and my room was big and charming. Breakfast was different all three days and very good. The bathroom was large and clean. The room was large and clean. This type of hotel is not a modern resort, but more like a very small boutiquey hotel. If you are looking for a generic hotel with amenities and no personality, this is not your hotel. No TV in the rooms, but I didn't miss it at all.

Hidden Gem
The hotel was very beautiful and had a nice authentic Moroccan feel. The service was impeccable. We arrived at midnight and were greeted by a friendly face, candles all over the courtyard and authentic mint tea.The hotel is hidden down an alley, but once inside you cant hear any of the noises from the street. We really enjoyed the home cooked breakfast each morning. Everything was so fresh. The riad was about a 15 minute walk to the main market. If you want a beautiful authentic experience, then this is the place for you!
