"Our 2nd time in 2 yrs as a family of 4 with kids age 7&8. We loved our stay yet again. Always something to do. Kids loved the pools and arcade. They enjoyed kids club and we enjoyed a quiet morning on the beach. We were seriously impressed with how much joy and enthusiasm the entertainment team brought every day, all day. The beach was perfect, the pools were clean and warm. So much food options. Rooms were air conditioned and cleaned daily. The perfect stay. "
"The breakfast in the morning was nice to have. Would have loved a little more variety with the hot menu items. The staff were generally great but one or two were a little aggressive when we didn’t understand what the expectations were. Like not being served coffee after having been seated for a while so we thought we could serve ourselves just like with the food. Also, not very clear what could be ordered (we saw a lot of tables getting bacon and bottled waters only to find out that those were extra)."
"Beautiful resort on an even better beach! Loved being able to walk steps to the beach and feel comfortable swimming in the nice clean and cool ocean. Take a little walk on the beach, head to the left and the very last massage spot (by the arch walkway) is a must! Puerto Vallarta is a lovely place with wonderful people. Nothing to fear at all!! "
"Safety was never a concern, the staff worked very hard to ensure we felt at home. The property is beautiful at every glance! Cleanliness is a top priority and it shows! One thing is for sure RIU has set the bar in terms of what a resort is & should be:) My family is looking forward to another RIU adventure! "
Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit, An All-Inclusive Resort
2/10 Terrible
"I honestly never leave bad reviews, but o have to for this property. For the price you pay for this all inclusive- you get about 25 percent of your moneys worth. We stayed there for about 5 days after Christmas and this is what happened: every day the unlimited drink places ran out of water or soda or both, the taco truck takes about 45 minutes to get a taco at and the cleanliness is scary, there are piles of garbage all around the resort- in closets that are opened or unused rooms, nobody ever picks up dirty dishes around the pools… at the end of the evening, there are flies, and bees swarming all the piles of dirty dishes. There are about 1/3 of the amount of pool/beach loungers to accommodate the number of hotel guests. You’ve got about 2.5 choices of places to eat all day which gets old real fast. The pantry that is “stocked” has cup of noodles if you are lucky, and a basic bread/ham sandwich. But usually it’s picked clean and there is nothing edible you can grab. The hibachi restaurant has a fixed menu and is a 2/10 experience. Save your money and don’t stay here. We had high hopes, but they fell incredibly flat. "
"This resort far exceeded my expectations! I have stayed at higher “starred” resorts which came nowhere near this property in terms of overall experience… the property is extremely clean, resort staff are fun & welcoming, and food is good. The pools are on the smaller side but you are right on the beautifully kept beach. I can’t say enough about how clean, well-maintained & safe this hotel feels!! Bravo to the amazing staff who help you have a wonderful stay… as a picky traveller this was the easiest five starts I have given!"
"en general., todo el servicio fue de primer nivel.. en los restaurantes toda la comida esta muuyyyyy rica.!!! la experiencia en general estuvo muy bien..!!!"
Hotel Riu Palace Pacifico - Adults Only - All Inclusive
2/10 Terrible
"Well, I’ll start with the pros.
The hotel and staff are great.
Now, I’m assuming they must have paid for any reviews that say the food is 5 stars. First thing I tried:
The outdoor “tiki taco” serves stale chips and shriveled-up hot dogs and something resembling a taco tasted so bad everything out there the cheese stuff for the nachos tasted like bargain brand artificial gross
I figured that the steak restaurant would be good; you needed to come early and wait in line, so it has to be yummy, I thought. Wrong; they started it off with some stale bread in a cast iron dish.
Tasted like Wonderbread that was left open for a few days. The steak and shriveled-up French fries were so disappointing; both of our steaks were overcooked and tough.
I thought, “OK, maybe they can only do Mexican food well,” so when we woke up, we tried the breakfast buffet. Kinda like a hometown buffet but with worse food.
The worst part was the Mexican food; I’m from Arizona and love Mexican food, and this was just “glop.” They don’t even have tortillas; that’s not a joke; seriously, they don’t have tortillas at the buffet.
There is nowhere else to eat close to the hotel, so you are stuck with it unless you Uber to town. No hot tub.
Also, they have a separate bar and areas for people who pay for the elite club. I’m glad I didn’t pay for it because it’s all the same food.
The pizza in the buffet is the same as the busted Italian restaurant. The hotel is beautiful, but the food is so bad.
