We used The Family Tree hotel/b&b as a stop over on the way to Bath. The place was superb… very clean, good facilities in the room, with a hearty and delicious breakfast. The off street parking in also very convenient. Additionally the staff were helpful, friendly and polite. Thx for a lovely stay

The people were generally friendly and helpful. The freshly cooked breakfast was very good. No room service was provided. The room has no wardrobe and limited storage space. The shower is in a high-sided bath tub so really difficult to access, the myriad of tap controls are ridiculously complicated and the side panel is too small so the bathroom floor gets soaked. OK just for just one night perhaps (not the three we stayed).

Lovey stay in Matlock

Fantastic accommodation. Room was charming and very well equipped. Nice mini bar with choc, beer and wine. Bathroom was excellent with bath tub. Breakfast was first class. Plenty of cold choices and full cooked breakfast. Nice coffee and juices. Some great restaurants down the road. Tasing menu at Stones was excellent setting and delicious. Lovely trip. Staff amazing.Will be back to visit Family Tree at a future date.

A lovely B&B in a beautiful part of the country.

The Family Tree is a lovely B&B in a beautiful part of the country. The room was clean, quiet and had everything that we could need and the breakfast was delicious. We only had one issue during our stay, relating to the heating in the room. This was dealt with swiftly by the management. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Stayed for 2 nights. Very convenient for train station. No food orders after 3.30 pm so went to a local curry restaurant by car. Room was okay. But lacked any surface to put your bags. Comfortable bed but not enough ventilation in the bathroom so it smelt damp. Had the fan on as much as poss. Internet good. Breakfast was okay. But found the staff not very friendly except one gent who was great. Parking convenient.

Needs a lot of attention to the garden transport links ok breakfast amazing one of the best ever the bar closed at 5.00pm no pubs in walking distances train station just round the corner every hour to Matlock plenty of nice wine bars

Lovely hotel, comfy bed and very clean room and bathroom. Very friendly and accommodating staff, very helpful with the local area knowledge. Would definitely stay again, great place for those not wanting to be right in the busy area, ten min train journey into matlock itself, train station is a two minute walk away.

A short visit.

The stairs were a bit of a challenge, so make sure you are comfortable with climbing them. The room was “petit” but the hotel is very useful for connections via Paddington. The staff were nice .

Ideally located for walking the Cromford Canal and access into Matlock. Comfortably equipped room and a generous breakfast. There was a heating problem but every alternative measure was made to keep us warm.

Highly recommend

Excellent stay. Exceeded expectations. Our room was spotless, beautifully furnished with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was probably THE best breakfast we have had in a B&B, with a choice of cereals, yogurt and fruit tray then pastries followed by a choice of freshly cooked breakfasts. Friendly staff. Would recommend with no hesitation.
