"There was only one member of staff there over our 2 day stay & she was really nice and helpful (she seemed to be covering reception, housekeeping & kitchen). Got to say all the public areas could do with a good hoover and the skylight in our room was covered in green algae. Our room was clean (apart from the skylights) but small. Breakfast was really poor for the price we paid. Hotel in general needs a good update as has loads of potential."

"The stay at Sheriff Lodge,Matlock was absolutely excellent.Ziz the Propietor goes above and beyond in every aspect.My Partner and I stayed 20th April- 22nd April,the latter being my Birthday. Ziz popped a Birthday Card on the Breakfast Table discreetly with amazing food on offer and excellently cooked wvery time.Her local knowledge was also above and beyond juxtapose her Hospitality and attentiin to all details. "

"We had a good stay at the Red Lion. The room was adequate for our needs. Clean and quiet. However we did book a luxury room and I think that description was pushing it as it was very basic. The pub was very close to the centre, easily walkable. Very busy pub at times which we liked and staff were very friendly and efficient. Free parking. We would recommend."

"Ideal location in the heart of Matlock Bath. Staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel and our room were full of character with many period features. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. I would recommend this hotel."
