"Just an amazing gem, the property itself is an amazing estate with great staff and food - with the feel of a small boutique manor, it offers a nice luxurious retreat at a reasonable price, it was the highlight stay of our 16 day trip around the UK."
"Absolutely lovely stay at New Bath Hotel. The staff were lovely very helpful. A bonus is the use of the lido. Very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay again."
"Accomodation was larger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable, however I would take earplugs as I struggled to sleep due to the cars going past outside. I had to go and buy some from the town centre. At night the cars whizz past really fast.
The listing states that there is free parking but this isn’t true- you have to pay for it. I have asked Hotels.com to amend this as it’s false advertising. The reason we booked this hotel was for the free...
"The Snug was very comfortable and well equipped. It was also very clean. I could not work the shower but I did not contact the owner so I am sure it would have been sorted if I had. It was only three nights and there was a bath so I did not. It was well located, quite near to Matlock Bath. The bed was comfortable and it was well decorated throughout. "
"This was a very nice place to stay. I enjoyed the closed in patio area and the breakfast was very delicious. The rooms were neat and the area was safe and quiet."
"The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. Check-in was easy and, although we originally planned to stay for a couple of days, we were made so welcome, decided to stay for two more. Our day always started with an excellent and leisurely breakfast which really set us up...

"First class food, excellent service and beautiful surroundings. The only thing missing was a non slip bath/ shower mat, apart from that it was perfect."
"Nice clean hotel with a nice ambiance. We only stayed one night as easy walk to town to see the boat illuminations which was perfect. We had a room at the top floor. Compact but practical for the price and one night. "
"It was a good experience though it wasbjust for a night. Walking distance to heights if Abraham and town centre. Staff are so friendly and respectful. Even met someone from our hometown which was a bonus. "
"Ideal location for exploring the Peak District. Lovely quiet pretty little village. The room is above a fabulous cafe where the food was great and the staff were so helpful and informative, they gave us some great tips on where to visit. Highly recommend this place and the cafe."
"Lovely B&B. Clean, spacious and quiet. Breakfast was really good.
Close to Matlock by foot. However, it’s quite on a hill. So not so practical for people with mobility issues. "

The reason we booked this hotel was for the free parking!!! Luckily we got parked ok in the train station car park but had to pay £15 per car. In the afternoon however the car park soon fills up and people drive up and down looking for a space.
We’d stay here again due the location and the charm of the building. "
