"We stayed in the room with two double beds. It’s at the top of the hotel so the view was good. Bathroom is surprisingly spacious and fancy! We didn’t eat here so can’t comment on that but plenty of pubs in walking distance."
"Exactly what I wanted, what I have expected hearing from my family who have stayed there previously so it was great to have a relaxing time with great service and food "
"This was our second trip to the lion at Belpur, and though we couldn’t have the bigger room this time, the room we had was still adequate for what we wanted. Always good friendly staff, who are more than willing to help.
The pub is located in a good area, close to shops and high street, and the mills and gardens. Fantastic time which is why we returned. "
"The perfect spot to enjoy the Chatsworth Estate and walk to the house.
The food is delicious and all from the area. Everyone is so kind and welcoming
I didn't want to leave!"

"The hotel is in a lovely building, retaining original features with the café area displaying some original items such as the cash register from 1882. The room key is also a traditional type which I liked.
The room had a lovely original fireplace and very comfy bed. The pillows were so comfy I checked the label so I could get some for home.
The breakfast was great, all good quality ingredients and well cooked. The scrambled egg was especially delicious!
The hotel has parking spaces available at the top of the hill next to the hotel. Note the hill is quite steep and may not be walkable for people who are less mobile, however there is also parking on the main street.
The hotel is in the middle of the main street and easily walkable to the main attractions, shops, bars and restaurants. "
"Lovely B&B. Clean, spacious and quiet. Breakfast was really good.
Close to Matlock by foot. However, it’s quite on a hill. So not so practical for people with mobility issues. "
"Lovely staff through out - reception/bar and kitchen. The food is tasty and portions are generous - the XL BBQ ribs are actually XL!
The rooms are clean and spacious with a will sought out lay out. While the link to the rooms from the bar could do with some refresh, the facilities in the room are great.
My room.had a view of Riber Castle, it was lovely making the connection on my hike.
I enjoyed my stay."
"Accomodation was larger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable, however I would take earplugs as I struggled to sleep due to the cars going past outside. I had to go and buy some from the town centre. At night the cars whizz past really fast.
The listing states that there is free parking but this isn’t true- you have to pay for it. I have asked Hotels.com to amend this as it’s false advertising. The reason we booked this hotel was for the free parking!!! Luckily we got parked ok in the train station car park but had to pay £15 per car. In the afternoon however the car park soon fills up and people drive up and down looking for a space.
We’d stay here again due the location and the charm of the building. "
