It smells like the carpets or the drapes need to be replaced. The hotel’s neighborhood has seen better days. A hotel shuttle driver warned me against walking to a nearby restaurant, telling me that there is often a police presence in the area addressing ladies of the evening plying their wares, and that some female guests had been robbed on the street recently.
