"DoubleTree used to be a premier brand. The JFK DoubleTree is faded from is glory. The entrance lobby is stark, greyish, cold without decor to brighten it. The shades of grey in the paint full the senses. The restaurant menu is Denny's. The hallways bleak. The room was spacious enough and clean, but the HVAC fan rattled all night, the hot water in the shower never got really hot. "

"Our flight came in late, we tried to check in at 3am, but was told there was a "system shutdown" from 3-4am. So 8 of us waited in the lobby for an hour (the lobby was very nice). At 4 am we were told the hotel was oversold and 2 rooms with 2 beds each were not available. We were subbed out with a king size bed for 4 people. We had 2 people that had to sleep on the floor. The staff was very nice, they felt sorry for us and gave us linens. They gave us the email of the manager, Paul Williamson. I've emailed him 3 times and haven't heard back from him regarding a refund. "

"This property is well managed and very comfortable. We stayed here for a few nights due to work being done in our apartment and I must say everything was perfect. The rooms are immaculately clean and renovated. The views of Manhattan are stunning. The staff at the property are wonderful and you can tell that they genuinely care about their guests. "Upon checkin a woman named cassandra was extremely mean and rude. I told her I am very sad because my mom died and she said “so my mom died too” i said yesterday? She said we do not have any rooms until 3:00. It was 6:30 am. I sat in the lobby. Luckily for me a new lady came in around 8 and she gave me my room early. But this was an exasperating experience. Cassandra also said to me that there are other hotels nearby and she had the option whether she wanted to check me in or not. This was very bad. "
