Never be swayed by bad reviews; everyone should have their own experience. I had an absolutely incredible time at Los Personales with my family. From the very beginning, the service at the front desk was amazing. The room was huge with great views, smelled wonderful, and the bed was fantastic. The place is new and comfortable, and it's only a 9-minute walk from the 169th Street Jamaica train station. Plus, you can't hear a thing in the hallways, let alone from outside.

During my stay, from the moment I arrived around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. until approximately 4:00 a.m. when I finally left, the entire second floor was extremely noisy. Guests were constantly opening and closing doors, partying, yelling, going in and out of rooms, with loud music and televisions at full volume. At one point in the middle of the night, someone even knocked on my door. When I got out of bed to open it, it was the front desk clerk, telling me that there had been a complaint that I was making noise—when in fact, I had been asleep. The environment felt chaotic and unsafe, more like a detention facility or a rundown neighborhood than a hotel. Properties like this should not be listed or promoted on Expedia.

Everything is very new and very clean so that’s much appreciated. I think also it’s a great value for the price! However, I think they should make it clear there is NO HOT Water. And I’m not sure how the heating and cooling works but it doesn’t seem like you’d have access to change it. So at times I was cold in the room. Also since everything is new, the towels leave a lot of lint on your skin. However, they were kind enough to personally provide washed towels when I asked and replace my keycard when it randomly stopped working. The staff are very very nice and accommodating, I definitely would return especially since they should’ve overcome these small kinks as a new hotel within a few weeks. Recommended for a budget hotel with excellent transit and lots of shopping and food near by. Wouldn’t say the neighborhood is safe after dark though. Lots of men hang around outside the entrance.
