- Disliked: Staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Good location, close to Southern Cross Station, and lots of food options nearby. Poor housekeeping, lousy breakfast option.

Located in Melbourne, Hotel Sophia is in the city centre and near a metro station. Spirit of Tasmania Ferry Terminal and Sidney Myer Music Bowl are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those in the mood for shopping can visit Melbourne Central and Queen Victoria Market. Looking to enjoy an event or a game? See what's going on at Marvel Stadium, or consider Flinders Lane for a night out. Our guests appreciate the hotel's convenience for public transport: Flagstaff Station is 4 minutes by foot and Melbourne Central Station is 11 minutes.Visit our Melbourne travel guide

This small hotel is in a good location on edge of city centre easily accessible by tram / walking. Because it is in a very old building the walls are extremely thin so if you are unlucky like us & previous reviewers, the people in room next door are coming & going throughout the night - we heard conversation loudly & snoring! (Another room nearby had to knock on their door & tell them to be quiet at 3.45AM). Our room looked into dark alleyway so you wouldn’t know if night or day. Do not bother turning up 5 mins early to check in, check in starts at 2 no earlier. Staff are pretty much non existent, there seems to be a permanent ‘Back in 5 minutes‘ sign on reception desk. It is more like a guesthouse not a hotel.
