"The place is great for a retreat. The lodges are spaceful, with air and view, very unique. In addition, I especially enjoyed the service from the Manager Martin: I had told him I was arriving late and couple sandwiches were waiting at my room so that I wouldn't go to bed with an empty stomach. And I asked him to organize for me a fishing party which he did fantastically and for a very reasonable price. I went early morning an hour out from the coast fishing Tuna with good and experienced guys....

The many sitting and laying possibilities in a wonderful garden adds to it. Speechless! To top it all, it was the People! The staff where amazing! "Absolutely beautiful place to spend 5 days. Utterly clean, great food, cold drinks, very very cheap, free kayaks and paddle boards, good shower, friendly dogs, interesting wildlife, really friendly staff, loads of interesting places to sit and lay down in the communal area, can walk quite far out into the Indian ocean when the tide is out and it faces west so the view of the sun setting each evening is spectacular. I'll give it a 14 out of 10!!! "

"This is a beautiful hotel expect the roads. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly and the food was good. Breakfast left something to be desire but overall was a great stay. We enjoyed it and had fun. It is also close to the beach which was a plus."

Great Food, Great Vibes, and Great Hospitality

"Me and my girlfriend spent time in Zanzibar to celebrate our birthdays. I found Samawa Living as I looking for a nice Place to stay for the week. Booking our room was straightforward and they even supporting with transportation from the Airport and back, which will cost a fee since it is an hour away. Upon checking we were greeted by the host that evening and shown our beautiful room. Also the food was amazing as well. Please not that this a Muslim country for the most part and the don't eat pork. Which was fine but please make sure you try the Beef Bacon. Lastly I would recommend taking advantage of the amenities. my lady and I got a massage that was so amazing and I also spent time in the mini Gym getting some workouts in as well the ice bath. Overall we had a wonderful stay."

"My stay at Kwanza was amazing, stayed here for my honeymoon and my wife really loved the resort. We stayed in one of the swim up rooms which was a nice added feature. The only thing I could fault this hotel is the drainage system in the shower and sink is a bit slow to go down the drain other than that everything is 5 star. I would definitely stay here again and the staff were all amazing and accommodating. "

"Property was beautiful. Staff fabulous. Great welcome from the host Sharon. The lodge rooms are in the middle of nature - enjoy the monkeys, bush baby and Aardvarks!! Beach walks at low tide are a must as well as swimming at high tide. Happy hour is great if you’re travelling alone - it was all superb! Thank you "
