Please don't come expecting the most modern decor or facilities but if you are an appreciator of old school style and don't mind a bit of mildew or peeling paint, then the Victoria is an incredible place to stay in Newquay. "The Alverton is a beautiful hotel The building is stunning. The hotel is just on the outskirts of Truro, but a short walk into town. The staff on reception - rhe two Amys - give a very warm welcome. The room was lovely and spacious My only gripe was the wedding party, who kept me awake on the first night. Breakfasts are delightful, cooked to order. "We had a fantastic stay at the Hotel, could not fault it. We used the pool and spa facilities on both days of our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We will definitely be returning for another relaxing stay with you. 5* * 2 very small points - 1. the windows need a clean in the pool to see the most amazing view 2. A mattress topper on the two single beds (pushed together) to cover the join. "
