"This is a lovely apartment, beautifully furnished and appointed. It has a stunning view, telephone wires apart. It was absolutely spotless when we arrived. We had a couple of niggles but they were addressed satisfactorily by the owners. Take their words about the hill to the apartment very seriously. You need to be fit and able to deal with it."

"The room (shepherds hut) was great just the right size for two of us and the hot tub was huge. We didnโ€™t need to ask for anything but saw the staff at the other huts and lodges cleaning etc, always very chatty when we saw them. Location was a little bit difficult to find but once there we were fine. Very close to Elan Valley and we had a view of one of the dams from out hut which was beautiful. All in all we had a great stay."

"The whole stay was beautiful! It was clean, spacious and the host even left Welsh cakes, eggs and milk in the fridge for me. Itโ€™s the first time Iโ€™ve solo travelled and this place was perfect for me, but I can also see it being perfect for a couple too! The host also left a โ€œguideโ€ on the table, with key information and recommendations for local places to eat and things to do, as well as cab companies which was really useful! I will absolutely be staying again! I had the best time and couldnโ€™t...

Penhelig Arms

Penhelig Arms

8/10 Good
"We had a lovely stay at The Penhelig Arms in a beautiful location. The food was good, even for gluten free. Excellent options all round. We couldn't fault the staff even if there weren't many on shift. However, the showers could have been better as water leaked out the door, (some re-sealant would have helped) and two of the window handles were either broken or we couldn't open the window. The fridge also wasn't cleaned. It did not look clean at all. One of the slabs was loose near the room and just need cementing down. The railway station was literally a 1 minute walk away. A beautiful line to travel on. Would I stay there again? Yes."
