"This is a beautiful property just outside of the main town of Mindo on a dirt road. It’s very quiet and you will hear the sound of birds and frogs. We saw quite a few different birds just sitting on the porch outside our unit. The staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The grounds and dining area are beautiful. The included breakfast is good and it’s nice to have the option to have dinner on property if you don’t feel like going out. Wonderful stay in Mindo. "

"I honestly choose a resort, but I accidentally choose this area. However, I would recommend for those who are low budget travelers but who are willing to take a break and rest in their amazing hot springs. They do have hiking trail, but it is the best not to go in the midst of rain. You will slip and get yourself all muddy. I learn that that hard way. "Important: This hotel is now called the Tagara. It is tough to find things in Ecuador and having the wrong name on the signs does not help. This locale is beautiful, the pool gorgeous, and the staff, especially the general manager, Bernard, are wonderful. But this is more of a corporate retreat in style. However, a great escape from Quito or a great place to spend a night when making the drive from the coast to Quito. For Westerners I think the nightly stay with included meals is a fair price....
