"Historic property in Pacific Heights. Great location for us and included breakfast. Our suite was spacious and we enjoyed the tall ceilings, and high king size bed. We enjoy staying in historic properties and enjoy the journey into an earlier time. The only challenge is parking, and you have several options nearby."

Staff was great and let us leave the car in the parking lot while we went out for an amazing breakfast down the street (Brenda’s soul food… also most excellent!) we walked to the Great American Music Hall for a show. The area is very walkable, close to transit, and the sidewalks are free and clear of the obstructions that plague other areas of the city. The staff was very friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. "

"Clean and comfortable rooms. Common kitchen, bathrooms and showers were all clean and well stocked. Easy access to transit and walking to Castro/mission. Only downside was the intensity or drug use and human struggle taking place outside and on surrounding blocks. "

"I have stayed here for 20 years, it was The Opal and it has been gorgeously remodeled but has all the things I love before. In and out enclosed parking, Mel’s Diner attached so food mostly anytime, comfortable beds👍, conveniently located at Van Ness and Geary Street so Ubers and cabs etc are easy. Tommy’s Joint an SF favorite for great food, beer and cocktails across the street. And a big movie theater practically next door. Very reasonable price for how nice it is now."

"Great location, with public transport just a short walk away. The area feels safe and clean, which I really appreciated. The staff were super helpful and always willing to make things happen. The common area is a total lifesave, I’d honestly choose this hotel just for that space. It’s a hidden gem in San Francisco, whether you’re here for tourism, business, or conferences."
