"It's a decent hotel in Freiburg. Positives are it was air conditioned (though not too cool), pet friendly, central location and has car park (note, I drive a Ford Ranger pick-up and it was very tight in the underground car park - don't even attempt anything bigger). Main gripe was at check-in (which took nearly 30mins after a very long drive). Matey tried to charge me double the confirmed Expedia rate as he claimed that my 17 year old son should pay adult rate when Expedia shows <18 yr olds as children. He then told me the hotel was fully booked out if I didn't pay the excessive rate and it was my fault for not knowing Novotel see 16+ as adults. Cue much discussion and then he eventually placated. Other guy on desk tapped on the computer next to him pretending not to notice the long cue forming behind me. Not a great experience on that front but otherwise ok."

"Very clean. Very nice bar with friendly service for evening relaxing. Nicely located for access to sights, and hiking opportunities. Better information about how to get to parking and clarity on costs (included or not? Daily rate? How do I find the parking structure?) would be helpful. Would stay here again and would recommend."
