On our last day in Big Sur and in Cali, we wanted to *hit the beach*. This was one of the closer ones to our campsite and was well worth the little hike! It was covered in cool driftwood sculptures and this amazing view. #LifeAtExpedia

Saturday morning in January. Gorgeous blue sky! Took the boys and a school friend on the 10 am tour of the rock. We parked at the base of the tombolo (an island connected to the mainland by a narrow piece of land) and joined one of two groups led by docents, up to the top. There were conservationists out on the hillside removing non-native plants to make a Swifts butterfly habitat. We heard stories about the early lighthouse keepers and their families, as well as stories about the downed USS Macon, and the haunted Keeper's house. Very cool!
