This is a lovely, delightful travel accommodation alternative. As seniors I just had to be careful to search for one of the rooms with a private bath before doing the booking. Very quiet and restful - easy to fall asleep. Take note that TVs are absent; just an FYI. Having The Bistro right there for dinner was very convenient and the food is excellent. The breakfast/break area is comfortable and welcoming and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the machine coffee - beans are ground for each cup!

It provided a nice stay for me and my son. The double bed was tight for the both of us, but we made it work. Take an extention cord for the fan they provide so you can stick it in the window to cool the room down to a bearable temperature. Young staff member at check-in was wonderful!

Beautiful quiet place in Oka. Only down side is no washroom / bathroom in the room, it’s shared with other guests on the same floor. We love our stay there. Check in time is quite limited though only 2-5pm so some planning ahead is required. The fan in the room is greasy. Otherwise everything else seems clean.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay , the place is amazing inside and out . The grounds and trails are beautiful especially that it was October . The staff was very friendly . The room was very clean .

My uncle was a monk and resided at the Abbaye d'Oka until he met my aunt! It was lovely to spend time reminiscing. Dining outside listening to the lovely music was a real treat. I love how they have kept the history,

les chambres ne sont pas climatisées mais comporte un ventilateur de fenêtre. La température extérieur était chaude mais comme on est entouré d'un boisé et d'arbres matures la chambre était très confortables. Les plafonds sont à 10pi (3.3m) de haut ce qui permet à la chaleur de monter et de garder le frais en bas. Les matelas sont récents et très confortables. Agréable surprise du confort de l'ensemble

I stayed here for 2 nights as weekend getaway by bike, during a heatwave. Due to two events on site (graduation dance and wedding), they put me in a room on the other side of the events. I got a room w/AC and fridge, which I was not expecting nor was it advertised. They have indoor bike storage available, also not mentioned on website. Toiletries were odd: I got a shower cap but no shampoo/conditioner. Good breakfast w/local specialties. Great staff (I left my keys one day & they called me). It's a heritage property so the walls are thin (other guests woke me up at 2 am with loud talking and laughter), shared bathrooms, and it's hot and stuffy inside if you don't have AC. Also, I noticed a lot of guests and event participants (and one staff) not wearing masks indoors. When I mentioned this to the reception, they acknowledged it was a constant problem. I think management should emphasize mask wearing, as I didn't feel safe around the other guests. Otherwise, it was a great location to explore Oka and bike around, and I enjoyed my stay.

It was great stay, despite a wedding celebration was very disruptive (very noisy party that could be heard very clearly through the doors into our room). Still loved the place and had a great time.

The worst ever hotel I've had to sleep in. No AC, it was over 36°C in the room, we were unable to sleep, on top of having to go outside the room for toilet and shower. Avoid!

Basic comfort in a historical site
For history buffs, off-road cyclists or people who do not mind basic accommodation at a fair price. It is minutes away from the village or the national park. The mountain bike trails start in the parking lot of the Auberge.

This isn't a hotel but a youth hostel. They charge the price of a hotel. Two bathrooms and shower for eight rooms. I don't recommend this place, not even to my worst enemy

We looked forward to a laid-back experience at the Abbey, and it was all that. Unfortunately, there was a local event scheduled at the Abbey--all dressy and lovely--which went until midnight or past, disrupting sleep. There is no air conditioning here, so be mindful of that. Our open window and the late-night party did not combine well. The ceiling fan was an unexpected plus. There is much work yet to be done at the Abbey, but the place was clean and comfortable.

Pros: Friendly people. Beautiful and quiet area. Interesting historical building. OKA Cheese. Cons: Room service is limited. No daily cleaning. Bathroom is shared. No hot breakfast. No A/C in the room. Free internet, but signal doesn't reach all rooms.

If your in for a little different experience, the grounds and buildings are a amazing, set right beside the oka cheese store. There is always something great to eat. Bring your mountain bike and explore the trails.

Convertes Abbey Get Away
No frills is absolutely right - no TV or hair dryer. However, the converted abbey has been updated well. It is a must stop for those who like locations with historical roots.

After looking for a hotel to stay for one night on route to Quebec, we found what looked to be something a little different from the usual corporate hotel chains. L'Abbaye D'Oka was exactly that. Away from freeways, airports, etc., and just a short drive from Montreal, this hotel is set in beautiful grounds with lots of walking trails to enjoy if you have the time. As an old monastery, it has been thoughtfully renovated. The staff were delightful and we would have loved to stay longer.

The auberge is relatively close to Montreal (large city). First of all, it is very quiet with no problem with parking and traffic. Access to the city is through highways (15 minutes). If you want a rest go there and the nature is absolutely beautiful. The only inconvenient is there is no conditioned air so it can be hot in the room.

Cadre magnifique et simplicité du lieu. Nous sommes très satisfaits.au sujet de l'hotel. Cependant nous avions réservé pour 6 personnes au RESTAURANT et avons été satisfaits du menu SAUF le supplément facturé pour le pain qui nous a fâchés compte tenu du montant total de la facture et pensons que ce n'est pas très commerçant. C'est désolant.
