"Well located, but tired premises. Somewhere between a hostel & a hotel. The room we stayed in was very tired & very steep stairs (60 ) with no lift. Excellent location 5 minutes from the square"

Casa do Amarelindo
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is at the heart of historic Salvador, footsteps from everything. Because of its location, only official taxis are allowed to drive through, so don't take Uber to get there. The staff is so friendly, the breakfast spread was fantastic, the hotel gives a high-end boutique experience where the amenities are modern but the decor and architecture is authentic to historic Salvador."
"Great hotel. Right at beach front and restaurants and shops and very safe. The room was clean and house keeping was very accessible and helpful. However you should really, really, really invest on purchasing mattress sheets with the elastic bands the grab the mattress. What is up with using regular sheets on the mattress?? Have of the time, after a few tosses and turns during the night, one ends up sleeping on the bare mattress. Thank goodness it was clean. Nevertheless, it was still gross. "
"It is located right at the historic centre. The owner upgrades my room with good sunset view of the sea. The posada does not have lift but the owner was kind enough to help bringing my luggage up to 3/F. English is not spoken. Breakfast has little choices but enough to fill my stomach."
