"A rustic, quiet home rests behind giant reeds rising into the air that are only topped by the chimney. You truly feel like you have escaped the modern world. A old fashioned lock with a turn-style key sits in the front door adding to the first experience. Once inside, the adventure begins. The bottom floor comprises of a bedroom, a large den area with windows that give a view to the farm, a sitting area, a small bathroom, and a larger bathroom with a tub, and a more modernized kitchen. There are decorations galore that step back in time. Upstairs, there is an area with 3 beds while a hay loft boasts 2 beds. There are fireplaces, but we did not use them as it was too warm. The little store is wonderful with prices that are affordable for families. Breakfast our was eggs, a blueberry muffin/apple muffins (second day), yogurt with fruit, and orange juice. If you have kids that barely eat breakfast, then it is very hearty and could be split between them. The owners are extremely friendly, upbeat, and accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again. The farm is wonderful, and there's a restaurant in town that has good food in a 200 year old building. There is a town about 15 minutes away. Overall, the place is very clean and nice. Beds were comfy. They had nice large towels for baths. There is a lovely and clean pool, which the kids tried, but it was too cold for the adults! My family left with core memories to last a lifetime. "
"This is an old hotel. There’s no way around that. But at least in the room we had it was clean and somewhat updated. There are a few updates that could still be done in the bathroom, but we have no complaints. The fridge worked well and the room was quite spacious. The space of what it seemed in the pics was why we chose this hotel over another one in the area because their rooms are very small (like couldn’t hardly walk around the bed as it took up the whole room small). We were very pleased that the room was as spacious as it appeared in the pics. The AC worked wonderfully and the mattress was very comfy. Overall for the price we would definitely consider staying here again as it gives us the ability to have a few days away to visit family without being crowded in with family.
Only detraction I had was that we booked a King room for a reason, and upon check in the guy seemed like he wanted me to agree to a Queen room that was on the first floor. (I wasn’t aware it was a two level hotel, but the end with our Non-Smoking King room was indeed two floors.) I said, no we would take the King room we booked. Not sure what that was about, but the stairs were easy to navigate and I’m glad I decided to keep the room as is. Also, if you’re staying here, please respect their pet policy. It seems that some people are disrespecting that rule and that it’s created problems for people who are just a small business owner. Don’t be those people who do that. It’s rude. "
"Beds were comfortable. Pool was great and kiddo loved the water slide. Part of the indoor water park stuff was shut off for renovations I think, but it was still great. Swings and teeter totter available."
