The good: elevators, air conditioning, nice shower, free breakfast on lovely rooftop. The bad: under renovation so stairwells blocked, smelled of paint, parquet floor was coming up in the middle of the room entrance and a bath mat was put over it. Staff could help with check in but not oriented for recommendations. English was a bit rough (better than my Spanish but not what I was expecting at this price point

We love this hotel. we have stayed here 3 times on vacations to Mexico City. It is the most beautiful hotel in Mexico City with a tiffany-stained glass ceiling over the entire lobby and Effiel wrought iron elevators and his works all over the lobby. The staff is unbeatable, it has 24-hour security at the door, a view of the Zocalo from the restaurant. the rooms are elegant, and well appointed. the location on the Zocalo is unbeatable to access everything in the centro historico area.

I hope that I will get my security deposit $2,000 pesos everything else was Excellent. But the time to get the deposit back in my checking account is too long. Thanks!

The check-in person was bordering on being rude. It was not a good check in experience. Comments: Interesting place. Elevator is needed. We are in our 60's and hauling luggage up to the fourth floor is not in the cards. Luckily, the doorman carried them but his back won't last long doing that. He was a great guy. Install an outside elevator as they are cheap. The lighting in room 406 was very dim...all of it. Install a new lamp in both rooms for additional lighting and stop using those modern cool lightbulbs that don't put out any light. Breakfast of pastries that are wrapped in plastic not so appealing when there are millions of bakeries around. There was almond milk and lactose free milk but no regular whole milk...whose decision was that? Bad one. AND there was no gluten free options. One morning the pineapple that was on the fruit tray was so brown it was gross. Rotten. If it was my hotel I would bring a cook in and serve eggs and bacon and would not stick with the poor choices that were available. While the hotel is in a great location it is doubtful that I would stay there again due to the things mentioned

Amazing stay, although we were in the middle of a demonstration and certain road closures, our stay was a positive and warm welcome to Mexico City, the restaurant was such a gem to have! We appreciate the staff and everyone there that made us feel at home and we couldn’t thank you enough. The building and all its amenities were top notch. Gracias casa de la Luz. Muy amable…
