Azul is a pretty hotel, but there’s room for improvement. I upgraded from a standard “motel” type room to the swim up room on the “prestige”side and was not disappointed. Although the pools were dirty most times, the beach was quite relaxing. They really should upgrade their pillows and pillow tops in the cabana area. I noticed both rooms could use a bit of a deep cleaning such as the toilet bowls and shower head area. Food options were amazing! Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The staff were amazing, top notch if you ask me. I did travel outside of the resort in my rental and security was tight with letting me in and out which felt safe. Rick’s Cafe and a couple other trendy places aren’t too far away.

The property needs a lot of work and maintenance. The door knob on balcony door was very loose. I thought the handle was going to fall off. I kept asking for face and wash towels but they didn’t have any for my whole trip. The toilet bowl seat was very loose. There was a lot of rusted areas in my room.

The staff were awesome! You have to walk from the parking lot which is way off the property, and cross the highway to get to your room the walking was long. They didn't clean the room properly, you smelled strong bleach in the room but the bathrooms weren't washed. The food was awful. Most guests I met there said the same and they had to Eat off property 😞😞. Each staff I met was very mannerly tho I commend them on that.

The property itself is beautiful, I definitely recommend, but front desk staff not so it took 5 hours for us to get our room, and they took our passports to back room for 4 hours I did not understand that part of the check in process.
