The Salty Mermaid was an excellent location, lovely decor , wonderful bathroom, comfortable beds. My favorite was the lounge chairs and umbrellas with an exceptional water view and sunrises. I came here in the 70’s twice. Same fabulous experience. Thank you. Sandy D.

Great little property with private beach access. We have stayed twice in the past year. It is very convenient to shopping and dining. The Canaveral National Seashore and Apollo Beach are within a 15 min drive. Rooms are quiet and well furnished/decorated. Our only suggestion is to increase bathroom counter space or add a makeup table.

The room was very clean and fresh However, the broom in the closet was filled with hair. The mattress was unbearable. I seemed as if there was a huge crater in the bed and it was very noisy

Thank you for your feedback! I will check the brooms in all guest room closets to make sure there is not hair stuck in the bristles. I will make sure housekeeping is aware moving forward. I am so sorry!! I am not sure what you were referring to that was noisy?? I will investigate today as well as the mention on the bed. I have only ever received compliments on the comfort of the beds that we have. Everything will be looked into as I want to ensure the comfort of all guests.

Perfect place in NSB
5-10 min walk or 5 min drive to all the good places. NSB is a Florida gem and this is the perfect place to stay if you visit. Right on the beach. Cute, small, super clean and comfortable.

The little gem of NSB, walking distance to everything on the Ave, and a beach right in front. One of the nicer boutique Motels of the area, including bicycle and Golf cart rentals

This place was just what I needed for some personal time to get away and refresh. Cute, private, steps from the beach, and close to shops and restaurants. I loved the view of the beach outside from in my room. Even when the weather was windy and a bit rainy I could enjoy watching the waves from inside. Parking was a bit tricky as there are very few spaces, but it always seemed to work out.

Pros: The location was top notch as was the outdoor common areas. The inclusion of beach chairs and towels is awesome too. The room was comfortable with average amenities. I enjoyed being in a small, quiet property. The proximity to the beach was phenomenal. Walking to restaurants and shops was also ideal. Cons: Crawling into the bed for the first night was met with sand in the sheets. Very, very unwelcome. After seeing the on-site machines being used to do laundry, I think they either can’t keep up with the workload of a beach environment or need a serious cleaning. The water took a very long time to heat up in the shower and the water pressure was less than ideal. Also, the shampoo/conditioner dispensers in the shower wouldn’t dispense (batteries dead??) and so we had to unscrew the lid to get the product out. Overall, I would still recommend staying at this property. For me, the pros outweigh the cons and I feel some of the cons would have been resolved if I had complained, which I didn’t. Given our short stay (2 nights), I just wanted to enjoy our time there. And we did!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Salty Mermaid! We were looking for a unique property and found it. It’s just steps away from the beach with amazing sunrise views! The staff was very nice and friendly. We felt like it was our very own beachfront condo-it’s not a traditional hotel which we actually loved since you aren’t battling crowds and waiting on elevators or parking. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance which was very convenient. You are close enough to Flagler Ave for all those benefits, but you don’t hear any late night noise or crowds in the property area. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the mini fridge in the room. The convenience of parking in front of your room entrance and being steps from the beach was just what we needed for our relaxing vacation. Loved the multiple beach chairs and umbrellas in the back patio area to relax while enjoying the shore. We did miss a pool on property, but that wasn’t a deal breaker with our close proximity to the beach. Bathroom was a bit small with little room to store your things, but we made it work. We will absolutely book the Salty Mermaid again! There really aren’t many unique options like this out there.

Great Suprise
When we drove up we were not so sure but when we got in our room it was a great surprise. It was clean 70ft from the beach with a beautiful yard. We are going to stay there again in the fall.

This property is cute, and right on the beach. Just walk out the back door. Very clean room but the A/C was lacking in room 1. Just a small window unit for the ADA room. The staff was super nice and very attentive and informative. This is a very cool place and we WILL visit the motel again.
