We stayed on the 20th floor of f the hotel, which is located one block away from the World Trade Center memorial. There’s public transportation within a couple of blocks. The room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants somewhere to stay in downtown’s New York.

The view was beautiful. The building was safe as there was no outside access to the rooms unless you have a keycard to the room to use on the elevator. The lobby was very nice. I did not like the shower as the showered looked dirty and there was no curtain. There was also no plastic bags/liners in the bathroom or room garbage.

Very expensive w no amenities, not clean, dark, broken down, 11 am check out and they are relentlessly knocking on your door. For what reason????!!! it’s not like they clean it well!

Finding the check-in was confusing. The access from the street is very dark and not easy to see the signage explaining to go from the ground floor to the 5th floor for check-in. I had to ask the bartender, who was very pleasant.

The ground floor hotel entrance is a large, completely bare black room. It is not inviting. You take an elevator to the fifth floor to another mostly black space to check in. Another elevator to a narrow, dark corridor to your room. Mine was, finally, not black. The tv worked, the bed was comfortable, the shower worked, and the room was clean. But the walls were scuffed and in need of fresh paint. This hotel is either being readied for sale or for demolition. I would not stay here again.

I had stayed here when this used to be a W Hotel and it was excellent. Now it is tired, dirty and just plain sad. No amenities whatsoever, none. That’s why they don’t even take a credit card upon check in because there is NOTHING to buy or spend on. The linens and towels are white. Not a hint of color in the place. A MAJOR update and renovation is needed. What a shame. Oh, and not cheap either. Ugh!

Great location and great views of the Freedom tower! Easy walk to shopping, food, and nearby train stations (including path trains to New Jersey. Easy access to 9/11 memorial/museum. Rooms were nice and clean for the most part. Ice machine available but not water fountain. Only downside are some of the staff members, particularly the male workers at the front desk who were pretty rude and did not listen to your questions/concerns and decided to cut you off mid sentence without listening to you. Other than that, the stay was pleasant.

I chose this property for its potential to have great views from your room. I booked a corner room and not only did it met my expectations, it exceeded them. I was initially concerned given that there are a lot of bad reviews on this site and others. As you read those, just note two things: first, there are a few areas I found where tiles were slightly cracked, some scuff marks in other places, etc. but this does not, by any means, constitute a low review. Secondly, there are many complains about refunds, baseline charges to credit cards etc. This is a common practice in NYC and should never result in a low rating. Also, if you choose to write a bad review, it’s a good idea to check back as hotel staff actually reds them, and replies with genuine offers for help. This hotel was luxurious, quiet, and offered great views of the city that you can enjoy from a comfy window seat. I’ve stayed in several hotels in the city over the years and this one is now my new favorite!

What I didn’t like was the elevator around check out . The staff that was working was talking to loud and I can hear them from my room that wake me up !

Close to a lot of stuff! The room was just very run down, I’m guessing there’s rooms that look like the pictures but I didn’t get one. Was very quiet actually! Only thing is you do have to take two elevators to get to your room. Overall good stay just need to do updating on the rooms! Worth the stay and rate!!

Like the location and view. Bed was comfortable, furnishings interesting designs. Didn't like toilet paper, very cheap, rough. Didn't like bathroom lighting.

Let me start by saying that this property used to be The W Hotel which I had stayed at years ago. When it was The W hotel it was great!!! Now as The Washington, it's not so great. It's a no frills hotel. I had a corner room and it was a decent size. There is no coffee maker or mini fridge. There was a pretty big bug on the bathroom floor when I arrived. Not sure what kind of bug it was but it was gross. I picked it up and flushed it. There is extremely poor lighting in the bathroom so if you need to do make-up well, it's difficult. If there was a mirror in the main room that would be a big help. They offer 1-ply toilet paper. I mean, really?? The bed is comfortable enough. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is close to several subway stations and Broadway is not not far to walk to. I walked from the hotel to Soho so easily. There's also enough places to grab a coffee, breakfast, lunch...anything really. Not sure I would stay here again as I think there are better hotels in the area. For a short stay though, it could work for you.

the suite was a good enough size for a family of 5 with 2 roll aways, beautiful panoramic views, The frront desk staff and the doorman was accomodating and cool but the manager Randynis in the wrknh business, hospitality is not his forte. He seems like an ok person but doesnt understanrd how to deal with clients very well. Overall it was a great stay and will bokm agaim.
