"Overall a very good experience for the price! A great location central to everything on the North Shore. It appears that everything has been renovated recently which is good. The room was very clean, loved the shower and the free shampoo, body wash and conditioner! The fridge came in handy for our leftovers! A few negatives - getting there is a bit tricky off of Route 1. The hotel is tucked behind other buildings and the roadway to get there looks like it has been strafed by the Luftwaffe. They need to pave it and put up good, well-lit signs directing you to the hotel. In the room, the main table was extremely wobbly. A bolt or two likely needed to be tightened. Also, it took us a while to sort out the bedside lamps as they were the kind that you touch to turn on. We tried this method and then found out it wasn't plugged in. In fact, they had an old surge protector controlling everything. My wife is a safety nut and didn't care for the outlet right over her head in the headboard. Other than those negatives, a well done to Northshore Hotel!"

"Room was good and clean, but a little older. There was so much chlorine in the green pool that we opted not to use it. The ice cream machine took my kid’s money, but we called the number and got it back. Staff was alright. The check-in lady was late and the person manning the desk didn’t know what she was doing and couldn’t check us in so we had to wait 20 minutes. The restaurant Nextdoor was good and friendly. There is also a Starbucks in the same parking lot. Room was quiet and clean and we felt safe. Pulling out of the parking lot was a bit tough, but floor it and you can make it. We enjoyed going to Salem and Salem Willows park/arcade from there. It’s worth the drive. Convenient enough to the airport and Boston."
