"We made the mistake of picking the cheapest room, which had only a window into an internal space. We traveled at a hot time of year and we boiled! Do yourself a favor and get a room with a street window. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. We felt safe inside the hotel, but we took a walk and discovered a very sketchy neighborhood just across the street. So get a street-facing room and take a taxi at least to the park if you stay here. "

In my case I was grown in México and having a room without air conditioning is not a problem, but for some people, it might be difficult to survive without air conditioning. "The hotel is pretty nice and, though it may be noisy on the street, the sound proofing worked wonders. It is important to make an appointment for check-in/payment by cc. Although there is a person at the small front desk to check you in and help with any needs, a higher up must be called in to run any credit card payment. The only issue we gad was that they were unable to find our reservation at first. Once they found it, they only had one room instead of 2."

"only one chair in the room for 2 people. The room was not cleaned the whole time we stayed there, no change of towels (they are very strict on 2 per room and no more) etc. otherwise clean, comfortable bed, and we felt very safe. With fan on, traffic noise was muted. Overall not worth the price. A friend stayed at the Barcelo a few blocks away for 9 nights for the same price we paid for 4. Lesson learned."
