"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! "I had a wonderful 5-day stay at Byre Cottage in North Yorkshire. The cottage is beautiful, cosy, and full of character, with a lovely fireplace that made the evenings especially relaxing and warm. The location is absolutely stunning, set between peaceful farmland and rolling hills, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Waking up to the fresh countryside air and quiet views each morning was truly refreshing. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of the Yorkshire countryside"

"The sea room was good, although the seagull trying to come in via the open window was surprising. On the whole the hotel was very good. In my opinion it was let down in two areas. Firstly the exterior looks tired especially from the back of the property, you could sit in the breakfast room and look at the rear through a roof window. I also thought that the decor of the breakfast area wasn’t in par with the rest of the hotel. The breakfasts were good , plenty of on choice, the only other meal we ate in the hotel was afternoon tea, unfortunately we didn’t consider it as good of value , as served from other hotels , where we eaten in the past.The choice of available lager in the bar was disappointing, only Carlsberg and San Miguel on draught. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay."
