Good history, comfortable but food poor

"Hotel has an amazing history. Rooms of good size, quiet and comfortable. Checkin friendly and quick. Slept well and room was ok. Only thing that let it down was the food which was not good value and service was poor. I'd like to think this was just an isolated occasion when it was very busy."

"The staff were very good, room was excellent. Was let down by breakfast on day 2, the restaurant was full despite taking bookings for what time, and they forgot about my food, probably because I was in the great hall on my own."
